    Rescue on Jenny Creek

While kickin it at the shop with the crew at http://phatjeeps.com on Friday, the Gilpin County boys in blue show up in a cruiser with a couple in the back. The Sheriff tells us that the couple had gotten in trouble up on Jenny Creek and needed help. We loaded up a couple of rigs and go up to get 'em out. They had taken the right fork at the downed bridge, so we followed along to see what's up. The "trail" is extremely tight down that direction and Dave ended up tweaking the hood on both sides of his Jeep through the trees while getting down to where they had gone off. They made it all the way through the end of the creek to where a hiking trail goes up to the Eldora ski resort where they managed to slide the (just out of the body shop with new paint) ZJ off the trail and into the trees. After lots of work, some creative rigging and winching, we managed to get the Jeep back up onto the trail and off Jenny. They had totally caved in most of the side of the stock ZJ. Needless to say the wife wasn't to happy! Guess its back off to the body shop

Sorry no pics this time because the battery cruded out on the camera, but we ended up getting the Jeep out with the cops happy and the owners okay!

Years ago I went that way [ first time on the trail ] and ended up on the ski slopes of El Dora.

    Hmmm always wondered...

I've always wondered where that went. I've seen rig coming out of there but have never been on JC just to explore. Is it closed now or did they get into some snow? Is it passable with no snow? Legal?

Turns out this guy used to be my neighbor. My brother spoke to him after this occured. I guess my brother recomended JC as a good close trail that is easy enough but will offer a decent challenge for his ZJ. I guess it didn't turn out as planned. Good job on the rescue though! But it turns out that he totaled the rig! I've gotta see this thing.
