    Holy Cross 6-10-06

Thanks to Shawn's invitation (TJrecreation) a couple of us Vail valley residences decided to give Holy Cross a try. It was Shawn, Pat (05willys) and myself.

What a perfect day for wheeling!

We made it most of the way, and after a few spots of snowbashing, decided to accept defeat just below the off camber, tree root obstacle near the city. No major breakage, but some good trail scars. I managed to get stuck every chance possible. Oh well, great day of wheelin'.

    Here are some pics. Enjoy!

Why did you turn around. You had everything you needed. One hot babe, winches galore and cheap beer. I bet shawn doesnt even know how to unwind the cable on that pretty boy jeep.

I had to look at your gallery pic to realize that you were giving him a hard time! Shawn said you gave it a run up there recently, and made it to the Creek after some winching.

He used the winch today! I think he even did it right...

    Pretty boy jeep.....

Seems like the "pot calling the kettle black" with that Defender of yours. I don't even think there is a scratch on it!

Looks like fun, the creek crossing looks like it's gotten MUCH easier since last year...kinda bums me out cause that was always one of my favorite obsticals that really proved to be a challenge even for rigs on 35's locked f/r....then again watching TJrecreation drive, you'd think EVERYTHING on that trail was a challenge

Yes The creek crossing is cake now. I went thru it 5 time this weekend and had no issues at all. How ever the clevland rocks area has a little more zing to it. It tooks us a few mins to get thru the leaning rock and some more attemps to get up the big rock. However the hike to the lake (frozen) was very good and we had a great time, Oh Yea did I mention that we broke the trail to the city and the Lake trail head?
