    Smile Rampart Range Fun

Can't do much in my '96 XJ as of yet since she's still a stocker... but, I had some fun camping and sort of "off-roading" at Rampart Range this weekend. We camped off of 324 and drove 324, 322, 325, and of course 300. Here's a few pics.

Yup. Lots of scenic, relaxed places to go in that area. Usually my once a week, clear my head drive.

Sounds just like me. I love to drive up Herman. It's close and just plain beautiful.

That it is, but it gets a bit crowded in the summer. Watch your rearview mirror for lunitics on all sorts of out of control wheeled vehicles.

Don't put to much stock into the pics on the site...they're kind screwed up right now.

You can get to it from Woodland Park, Coloroado Springs, Monument, or Denver. Lots of back ways too.

go to garden of the gods and as you leave the number 1? parking lot there is a right turn off to go down it...you exit at woodland park. Its a cute little trail.

I don't know what mile marker it was, but we were camping off of trail 324. There is a 324A and 324B, but if you bypass those and just stay on 324 the whole time, we were on top of this big hill. Man, it was windy up there too! Next time I go, I'm camping at 322, so don't steal my spot! hehe.
