So the dems kept forgetting to add "peacefully and pagriotically" after every time they quoted Trump say to fight and cut the video before he said that every time and now they just edit crap to their liking. Yeah, that is the government that i want running my country. Kill babies! Open the borders! Shut down jobs! Give everything to our enemies! Yup....

I don't feel cancelled or silenced at all. I don't buy into the conservative victimhood of "omg the libs are cancelling me!!!"

I spent a bunch of time double-fisting answering questions and trying to be as transparent and honest and when I asked a simple question, no one could answer it.

All I've seen so far has been "there should be investigations" or some generic sh**. And obviously the "everyone knows it" lines learned from Trump's style of speaking.

    So. predictable.

Which, of the dozen or so that you've posted, do you want anyone to engage on?

I'm not here to be some sort of punching bag for anyone who's angry at hypocrite Democrats, I'm definitely not bothering with debating a very biased news source (Fox News), and really a lot of what I'm reading on here just seems to devolve into basic whining like getting "cancelled" or whatever new excuse you want to use when someone is really just telling you they don't want to hear your sh** anymore.

Until this sort of crap is addressed, corrected and can never happen again the divide in this country will not end.

Democrat windbags can say anything they want and it will fall on deaf ears.

Remember that this nation is built on principles that were put in place not by peaceful means and a return to that behavior is closer than some may want to believe.

Are you kidding me? You want someone, anyone, to seriously address an image hosted on a website that has this as it's main background page?

This is comical and yes I'm here to make fun of it 100%.

Taking some sort of high road about "the divide in this country will not end" while simultaneously posting a picture of the worst president in US history cosplaying Lil Wayne?

Protip: when you try to present "evidence" using a hosting provider that has a picture of Trump pointing a gun at the viewer your message gets lost. So one would end up yelling back into the conservative echo chamber again, which is all fine and good and it's okay by me, because at least we're easily able to keep track of all the idiots who self-incriminate themselves doing incredibly stupid and illegal things for the world to see. And y'all also need to stop having your press conferences "between a crematorium and dildo shop".

Ah, yes. We've finally gotten to the part of the discussion where someone brings up <ooh scary!>veiled predictions of violence</ooh scary!>.

Here's why that's not going to happen:

So back on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 when we overthrew the government with our Muslim overlord, confiscated everyone's guns, imported MS13 gang members, and generally made it a bad thing to describe Michelle as an "ape in heels", a whole bunch of backwoods inbreds totally started a big ol' Civil War that decimated our country - and it was predicted using the exact same language and dire forecast of national upheaval that you seem to be referencing again. You remember that, right? Yeah, me neither.

Conservatives, who seem to be the people predicting (again, like clockwork) that we're facing widespread violence in the coming months/years/decades/whatever seem to forget that Y'All Queda doesn't seem to be able to organize almost anything of consequence to do... anything. I mean, really - these supposed insurrectionists waiting in the wings to liberate us from our super-oppressive gov't need to come up with some soldiers who aren't willing to turn state's witness at the drop of a hat:

I really dont understand why people assume that elected officials are not permitted downtime. I thought it was strange when Obama was criticized for heading to Hawaii or going golfing, because it isnt like his job doesnt follow him there. If you feel YOU deserve periodic vacations, why are others not permitted the same.

You wanna say his timing was bad because of the weather catastrophe in texas? I will respond with 2 things: 1. do you plan your vacations to foreign places at the drop of a hat? No you get your tickets and such way ahead of time to get everything lined up. Cruz' family was there already, this was planned ahead. So the decision comes to go or lose out on deposits and such, just like you would. 2. He is a Senator, not the Gov, not a Mayer, not a FEMA manager or any other that carries focused responsibility to the operations of texas. His job is in DC. Now, sure he carries some sway and has contacts and can help in certain ways, but to say he must stay hypervigilant to the emergency needs of Texas and be at his post 24/7 is beyond stupid. What I would expect him to do is the business in DC and if that work requires 24/7, then that is where he is obligated to be.

My opinion is the same for Dems or Reps. I doesnt matter if you hold opposing opinions to me, you are still a person who deserves periodic time off from your job.

Its not so much that he took time off or even took the family on vacation as it is the appearance that he was not honest about whether or not he was already planning on coming right back. If it was a scheduled vacation, he should have just said that and went with it.

Except this is not what happened....
He didn't "plan" this months ago.

"With school canceled for the week, our girls asked to take a trip with friends. Wanting to be a good dad, I flew down with them last night and am flying back this afternoon," he said.

SO that sounds like school was canceled BECAUSE of the storm.

Staying in the Ritz Carlton is DOPE, especially if you get a deal, but come on....

Also I agree with you, his job is IN DC but he is there FOR TX.
Optics on this are just bad, and common sense says don't do this over a "good deal."

This isn't about partisan politics this is about being a good person and helping your fellow Texans where you were at the time.

Came here to say this. He went on that trip because the time opened up as a result of the storm.

Most people in TX took the time off from school to stay home and try to keep themselves and their families ALIVE.

Fair enough, hadnt heard that part of the story, but it really doesnt change my point. Lots of people take advantage of schedule disruptions to squeeze in a vacation. When I lived in Florida, we used hurricane shut downs as opportunity to vacation, it was one of the few times I didnt have drill crews operating and could turn off my phone. Guess that makes me truly despicable. Cruz isnt an emergency responder, disaster coordinator or a municipal leader in Texas. Taxes are paid to maintain an abundance of highly paid governmental experts specifically trained and positioned to react in these situations that can be just as useless as Cruz would be.

Optics seem to matter more when the subject person is a conservatives than a liberal.

You can think him a ****wit, what I think of the guy isnt far from that, but he is still just a guy. With a family. Who has very specific obligations in DC that limit his opportunities for downtime. He had an opportunity to get away with the fam, good on him. Is the ENTIRE STATE a frozen disaster zone with mayhem everywhere? Nope. Yeah, it isnt great and some areas are pretty hard hit, for sure, but it isnt the apocalypses the news stations want you to think. There is certainly work to be done to prevent it from reoccuring, and there are some jackasses that need to stand in court for dereliction of duty. Many of the deaths were the result of personal stupidity. Darwin award recipients. Yeah, hard hearted, people experience the outcomes of bad decisions, sue me.

Tell me what you would expect a Senator to be responsible to do during an act of mother nature like this. Be specific. Meanwhile I will continue to defend both political sides on being human with realistic behaviors.

There was a CNN article earlier that i can't find now that pretty much said it how i saw it. I think the title was "Why his explanation was worse than the vacation" or something to that affect.

Again, and you are 100% right about the fact that him being in Texas or not had zero impact on how quick anything was going to get fixed. As a matter of fact, he could have been in Washington or probably anywhere else in the US and the story would have never happened. Its just perception.

Either way, its certainly not the story of the year or month or even week.

I would expect him to lead and be there for the people of the state he represents, since he was THERE already!
Just like these 2 libtards did for Texas.

Also when MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of the people you represent are affected by a storm you DON'T bounce.
    That is politics 101

Also you don't throw your kid's on the bus.

Optics don't see a party, if you are a fool, you should get called out.

I hope that is specific enough for you.

And NOT take advantage of a Groupon his wife got from Cancun...

As much as i hate to say it, doggie is right on this. Once again, this is hardly the biggest story even of today but as i originally stated when i posted the story, it was a boneheaded move IMO.

Next up, doggie reminding people that i am on his ignore list.

Real quick is this the "cancel culture" some speak of?
Or do the rules not apply to some?

PS I have friends who travel to Cancun quiet often, been there twice in the last 6 weeks. Once with their whole family, and once as an anniversary trip... but they ain't a Senator and follow the rules.
    Weird.

My memory must be failing, I don't remember a single critical word for any of the lefties who have taken covid vacations or broken protocols. Surely there must have been considering the heat Cruz is taking. Unless it's all purely partisan politics and a double standard.

I'm here to tell you that, indeed, your memory is failing.

Just off the top of head, you forgot that one time our very own Democrat Denver mayor got called out on national media for his hypocritical tweet telling people to stay home while he was boarding a plane for his Thanksgiving trip.

Or do you want to keep cherry-picking your arguments some more?

What is completely CRAZY is Cancun Cruz knows what he did wrong and admitted it as much, BUT folks are still trying to defend him.
And let's not forget he was one of the causes of the insurrection!!!

Every news station including Fox has been hammering him pretty good on this even though in the grand scheme of things its fairly meaningless so i dont know where you see all of these people defending him.

Meanwhile, CNN and MSNBC etc still ignore Cuomo murdering 1000s of people in nursing homes.

Things that make you say huh....

The real scandal, IMHO, was that he went to Mississippi for Thanksgiving!
