    Thanks for posting those links....

I forwarded them to Jodi to share with her employee who is not at work today since she took her son who was a friend of Kendrick's to the memorial service today.

Great turnout, hundreds of Jeeps in the procession.
Have you ever seen a man eat so much fish?

This is the first time Douglas County SO has escorted a procession for a civilian:

The sheriff’s office says Castillo demonstrated the kind of courage it would expect to see from its own deputies in the line of duty — going above and beyond for the community.

“He’s a high school kid that didn’t think about his own safety, but thought about the safety of his classmates and took some action. It’s horrific that that cost him his life, but he’s truly a hero in our eyes,” Washburn said.

I hope that this starts a trend of celebrating the heroes and remembering the victims rather than giving the killers infamy

The convoy was a very cool thing to be a part of. Would have preferred that the impetus behind it never happened, but it was a great way to show the family how much support they have from the community.

I staged at 11:00 AM, counted (about) 250 vehicles in front of me. After 11:45, I counted the vehicles behind. I stopped counting at 380, as more vehicles arrived. I'm certain we had over 400 vehicles show. I love the way our community can pull together!

I am that old, fat arse, caucasian male standing in the background. During the interview, I could barely hear the interviewer, most of her words sounded like an outboard exhaust: Blurb, blurb, blurb... From that distance, over the wind, and through my tinnitus, I heard the interviewer use the phrase "SCHOOL SHOOTING" at least 4 times, maybe 6. I could not hear Ms. Fanaro's replies to the questions.

I'm glad the "journalists" recentered on our primary cause. I was ready to count how many time the phrase "SCHOOL SHOOTING" was used in the finished product.

That is pretty awesome right there. I am glad the police showed their respect for a true hero like they did.

It's sickening that things like this happen. There are just no words. But the show of support looks overwhelmingly awesome!! Good work Jeepers!
