Trail for a beginner this Saturday

A buddy of mine just bought a JL and wants to get the tires dirty. I don't normally wheel this time of year and I'm struggling to come up with something that I think will be enjoyable for us. A couple of suggestions I've had are Yankee Hill and Gross Reservoir. Has anyone ran these recently and can provide a trail report? Are there any other good ideas out there? Part of me feels I need to keep the Rescue and Recovery guys on speed dial.

Same here. When this first came up my wife suggested left hand. Sure was nice having that trail available. I haven't driven up that way since it was closed in what.... 2013 was it? Has it really been that long?

Yankee hill conditions change weekly. I ran it in November (?) and we had to do lots of digging and strap people through multiple deep spots.

7 mile might be a good choice.

Yup 2013 was the end of left hand. The flood was the perfect excuse

Just wanted to let everyone know that this was a success! We didn't get all the way through Yankee Hill because we didn't want to be busting trail with a stock JL in our group, but we got far enough and had just enough difficulty that everyone had a great time!
