    Retro Tacoma - opinions?

The new Tacomas seem to lend themselves to the retro look (IMHO).

    Curious for your opinions....

(Well, I'm takin' my time) I'm just movin' along
You'll forget about me after I've been gone
(And I take what I find) I don't want no more It's just outside of your front door

Trying to revive the old Ivan Stewart paint scheme. I met him once and he was a hellofa nice guy. Most of the buying public won't even know who he is though.
From the only state in the USA where O'dumbass failed to carry a single county. :hail:

I usually would hate yellow/orange/red together, but that's a badass looking truck.

I get the reference, but even without it, that truck is cool.

Being more specific, I like the paint scheme.... I'd delete those KC daylighters with an updated LED bar.

Other than that, it would be welcome in my garage. It might take some convincing on the wife for it to be her new daily driver, but I'd put the work in....

    I'd want these wheels -

I agree on different lights...maybe (they are KC's after all)

Love the retro look, kc's and all! Grew up idolizing Stewart. Even had his game for the original nes. Between him and Michael Fox in Back to the Future, I was destined to be a Toyota truck fan for life.

I've been contemplating painting mine with the retro look, I'm not a fan of the new Tacomas but love my 1st gen.

That could easily be done with a wrap!!

Those KC's are likely their retro LED series, so I'd leave them to keep the retro theme, but I suspect we are only talking the the paint scheme?

I have always been a fan of that color scheme. I do have to say that the whole package seems to work, though I am not a fan of the body style otherwise.

If it wasn't red/white I might not agree with you. Should have picked the green/white photo instead. That scheme looks killer on the new GM trucks. I personally like the looks of the GM trucks better than the Toyota double cabs. Toyota needs to come out with a real bed size as an option...

The side stripes on the old trucks ran with the body line, the bulges over the fenders on the new trucks ruin it for me. The bottom of the stripe on the front fender doesn't line up, silver center caps on white wheels the whole thing looks like an after thought to me.

Yes and no. I have built a lot of different skids over the years. But none probably as intricate as the set in question.

Ok, you guys got me looking at this Big 10 Chevy retro stuff now.... Not that I want to do it, but there's some cool schemes out there... It just piqued my interest since it was applied to the truck that I now have.... (The red/white Z71 pictured above)

Some of the pics would not embed here, so here's a general google image link ---- we'll see if it works ??

The toy is sweet, stripes need to come up further though. Only painting the bed highlights how short it is, they should have come up to the front door like the original.

The Chevy is the ugliest paint scheme I think ive ever seen. WTF? Who thought that looked good?

I saw that someone had done one with the green and white scheme, but I feel like the swapped the grille, that colored bar going across kinda ruins the front end look if you are going for retro for me.
