    2018 F-150 3.0L powerstroke Diesel 250hp/440 ft/lb's

I am very excited to see this finally come to fruition. Ford bringing a 1/2ton diesel to the market to compete with Ram. I am looking forward to the likes of TFL running this up the Ike Gauntlet and comparing it to the Ram. Numbers only tell you so much.

I'm not so much interested in the 1/2 ton truck itself, although it would work for all my needs, but what I am hoping is that this 3.0l finds it's way into the SUV lineup! We've got years before we are ready to replace our diesel SUV, but it can only be good to have another one on the US market. If only we could simplify the emissions systems on these.

I saw one this summer. It had a very subtle diesel rattle and even standing beside it, I still had to ask if it was a diesel. I think they also put that in the ZR2 package.

What else I would like to see is someone fill the diesel void that VW left behind.

this..... the jetta was probably the only sedan outside of a tesla i could be ok with.... there is just something about when you need to move in a hurry, being able to....

Indeed...well almost. I couldn't go Tesla even tho I do respect them. I really love my cheating JSW and will probably hold onto it a long time. Isn't much else that has the same gitty up while yielding high 30's + MPG's.

I see currently the 1.4l Eco Tech diesel isn't available for the Cruze yet.

    Cool Option
What concerns me is "Youíll be able to hitch up to 11,400 pounds of trailer to the diesel F-150 when properly equipped and the payload rating is pegged at 2,020 pounds."

Holy cow -- Weekend Joe is going to think he owns a big rig and try hauling 11k. scary stuff
    Stopping distance be damned!

If Ford beefs up the brakes appropriately, I don't see a problem. I'll bet it'll have a factory installed brake controller.

Correct me if I am wrong but hasnít the eco boost f150 had that same tow rating for a few years now? I used a friends eco boost to move a Jeep on a 18í flat deck and I was shocked how well it handled and stopped. Granted it wasnít 11k, but it didnít feel unsafe by any means.

I just hope this deflates the value of old Ecoboost trucks, but I doubt that it will...

Kinda surprised the diesel option is only 4K of that 65K.

Yeah, that is pricey for a 1/2 ton! And 4k is 6k short of the 6.7 diesel option for perspective. What is the EPA fuel mileage rating for the ecoboost?

And it doesn't even come with a radio antenna? LOL!

The 3.5 has more power and tq then the 3.0ps but Iíll have to look at the mpg

The 3.5 has more pick up then the new 3.0 but itís nice to drive and you donít even know itís running lol sooooo Quiet.

We havenít checked it in it... we put the antenna on after we do the new car inspection 😂
