Since platypus can lay eggs and produce breast milk, wouldn't that make them the only mammals who can make their own custard?

But, the question would remain: if a platypus can make it's own custard, would you eat it?

I'm actually not the resident expert on this one, since I don't eat custard.
However, I'm sure I'll have plenty of random thoughts to share in the future.
That said, my google-fu is strong today.
Regarding the plural for platypus....Scientists generally use "platypuses" or simply "platypus". Colloquially, the term "platypi" is also used for the plural, although this is technically incorrect and a form of pseudo-Latin; the correct Greek plural would be "platypodes".

Although platypuses are born out of leathery eggs, the babies nurse like mammals from their mother. Female platypuses, however, don’t have nipples. Instead, the milk oozes out of mammary gland ducts on their abdomen and babies drink up by sucking it out of their mother’s fur.
