Wireless surround sound systems
Not photo related so I picked the closest off topic forum... Sorry
We sold our old school tower speaker and component system and now are looking into wireless/Bluetooth sound bar systems. Looked at some systems on Amazon, LG seems to have nice components at reasonable prices. Looked at ones that were higher rated watts with a wireless sub and also can play blueray/DVD/CD's.
Any experience or advice is welcome.
Thank you!My name is Daniel. I pretty much do what I want.

I ditched the "whole system" a few years ago, and went with a sound bar and sub. At the time I was doing my research and went with a Pioneer due to the reviews. Flash forward to today. . .and I would totally go with the Sonos system!! My buddy has his whole house on the Sonos, and it is quite amazing. I love that he can control the whole thing with his phone.

Very much this and since I don't want to invest in Sonos gear quite yet I am sticking to my awesome sounding old school tower speakers.
I think I read that both Denon and Samsung are also throwing their hats into the wireless speaker game. Samsung had a full on surround system but in all cases I have to wonder about sound quality OTA versus the wire.
Good luck and please report back with the direction you end up traveling. This is my boom stick.

Um yeah sono's 5.1 system (comparable in components) at $1800 is not gonna happen...

That sticker shock is why I haven't jumped in yet. Keep hoping someone else does and I get to hear it first hand before taking the plunge.

^^^^^ True that.
Anyone mess with the RocketFish stuff? Seems interesting but wonder about the actual impedance/etc versus wired from the receiver.

I've never played with their speakers but I've had a very "meh" reaction to their other products in the past.

So I said F'it and got a wired system. The wireless systems except Vizio had crap reviews. And no one had the Vizio in stock. I hate ordering stuff I am new too and don't want to hassle with shipping it back. So I ended up with a Sony 5.1 wired system w/ a blue ray smart (apps) player and Bluetooth to stream music. It also has an FM receiver. $248 at Walmart. Sounds good so far. Not like I am going to pound the walls as I live in town homes attached to others.
But the Rock setting EQ sounds perfect to me with the correct balance of deep even base.
