I have pretty much eradicated the stupid crawdads from my yard by pouring way too much melathyon down each hole that i see but when i was out setting up my lil tractor sprinkler before light this morning, this here land lobster was hiking across my front yard. He hikes no more.

I've enjoyed the rain down here, and the lack of it at home that kept my wife from bitching at me about having to mow while I was gone. The news is broadcasting flash flooding, though, with the saint vrain canyons getting a lot of input. Not worried about the family. We'll see a double-file parade of animals walking into a waterproof box before the house is in danger, but we get another 2013, I trust my Kate will be able to figure out how to fuel, run, and connect the generator, though I'm really regretting not replenishing the water carboy. She'll remember to fill the bathtub for flush water and the potable water containers for drinking, but I just hope it's in time for the latter.
Duh. There are means of communication. I guess I should make sure. Just a heads-up. She'll judge whether it's necessary to stock up on water (gas keeps so there's plenty of that to save the cold food).

My weed sprayer guy did my yard this morning and i was planning on mowing today. Now i need to wait a couple days before mowing. The grass is gonna be deap by then.
