Anyhow, I apparently picked up an Itty bitty tick that though my bellybutton was a perfect place to live. I couldn't get it out myself because, well, ya know....when you bend over to look in said bellybutton, it tends to smush shut. Anyway, it itches like hell fire and so I'm at the doctor's office to get the lil bass turd evicted.
the ol' tick stuck in my belly button routine ... I've heard that hundreds of times ...

.... well, come to think of it, actually never.

    Hope the extraction went well.

fewtsball was good with the exception of our 2nd string QB giving up a pick-6 for the only points given up so far .... Won 33 - 6

... Saw Peyton Manning there as his son's team beat another team that is figuring out that a football is somewhat oblong. I'm hoping that other team has on opportunity to find the end zone before the end of the season. They are awful, but happy for OC Peyton getting a win.

I didn't get much of a chance to see the young Manning QB play, but it sounds like he's getting pretty good fairly quickly.

So she said there could have been a tick but what I was seeing was just a scab from something that looked a little infected. Anyway, she just cleaned it and prescribed me some antibiotic ointment to smear around in said bellybutton 3 times a day.

I don't remember anything poking me in the bellybutton.

Clean and apply ointment in the bellybutton 3 times a day? That's half as often as I do that. I'd gain at least 45 minutes a day with your doctor's instructions.

Sundee. Got most of mah chores done yesterdee but I do have to mow and weedereat still today.

The smoker is fired up and I have a brisket ready to go on. This will be my first brisket so we will see. If it turns out half as good as the pork butt I smoked a few weeks ago, I'll be happy.

Oh yeah. Speaking of the brisket, I go to wallymart yesterday and buy the brisket and other stuff amounting to right at a hundred bucks. I always use the self checkout thingy and bag the stuff as I go. Anywho, I'm 3/4 of the way to my truck with 3 bags of groceries when I think, did I grab my receipt? Then I start thinking, did I even pay for this stuff? Then panic sets in as I realize that I didn't. I was thinking about something else and as soon as I bagged my last item, I just picked up the bags and left.

I went ahead and loaded the bags in the truck and hurried back into the store hoping that nobody had tried to use the check out doodad I used but there was someone there already so I went to the lil ol lady that hangs out there and told her that I didn't think I paid for my groceries. She said that I didn't because she had cleared it out thinking someone must have just been price checking. Seriously? You thought someone must have just price checked 20 items?

Anywho, I ended up having to go get the groceries back out of my truck and hauling them back into the store and re-checking them so I could pay for them.

    Lulz

... Similar topic: I've seen some recent posts on that stoopid Nextdoor app where folks are watching guys dressed in motorcycle gear with a helmet / tinted shield go into the grocery store and just steal a huge cart of groceries and the instructions are for store employees to ignore it.

I get not risking an employee's health by not challenging, but I'd think taking video / photos of license plates while calling the po-po could still be an option.

I used to like playing with a praying mantis when I was a kid then one of them bit me. It didn't bite anyone else.

It has smoked for close to 3 hours now at low temp. Time to pull it off and put it in an allllyouuulimium pan with a beer and cover it up and crank up the heat. It will still take several hours to be done after that.

Brisket takes a bit more effort than a pork shoulder. How did your meat turn out? assuming you slice it the correct direction, it should be fairly juicy and tender and you should be able to pull apart a 1/2" cut with your fingers.

I prefer to smoke mine without wrap ever, because thats me. I start low at 160 for about 8 hours or so until the temp comes up to 125 on the meat. then I start doing a little spray periodically on the meat and crank the temp to 225 until it is done. I pull it when it is probe tender, roughly 198 to 204

When I put it back on after putting in the pan with a beer and covering it, I turned it up to 250° and surprised how quickly the meat got up to 198°. It turned out pretty awesome and tender but I dunno if I sliced it the right direction or not. I just built a baked tator and threw some of it on top for lunch and it was yummy.
