kid fewtsball was fun Saturday ... Court's Cherry Creek team scrimmaged a team from Arvada that dominates their league up north. According to most, these are the 2 best 6th grade teams in the state. The scrimmage last year was close and we had to come from behind to win by 1 score. This year, we "mercied" them up by 42-0 at halftime. The final was 49-7.
The real season starts on Saturday.
Flew down to PHX over the weekend to surprise my dad for his birthday. Let my mom plan the whole thing, so she could take the credit for it. It definitely wasn't the production level that I would have done, but he was surprised and it was good to see family for a bit.
Had my flight down there delayed due to a lady with 2 hairless cats and some cat carrier issue. Took 20ish minutes for whatever repackaging of the rat things to allow us to get going. I don't think anyone was amused. with the delay just sitting there... Beyond that though, I think i am close to getting my free companion pass for the wife for next year
Apparently it's moisturizing again because Puddydog just came in and he was a tad soggy.
I've gotta get up early again in the morning so I can be at my voting place when they open at 7 so I can get in and out before work.
Ugh. I don't enjoy getting up early.
73 to a partly chance of moisture and 83.
Tuesday.
60 ===> 85ish w/ sunshine
Courage is knowing it might hurt, and doing it anyway.
Stupidity is the same.
And that’s why life is hard.
Voted.
I'm lucky as my voting station is like 2 minutes from my house. As I'm sitting at the stop sign waiting for traffic to go by, a Suburu thing slows but I dunno if it's turning on the street I'm on or what. It turns into the voting place and I say, there's a Democrat.
Normally, I would have either slowed down walking and let a woman go in front of me as they unlocked the doors as we were both heading to the building with a few people already in line but she had already angryfied me so she ended up in line right behind me.
Anyway after I signed in and were being handed my ballots, they asked her if she was Democrat or Republican and she said Democrat and before I could even stop myself, I said, I would have never guessed that since you aren't even smart enough to know how to use a turn signal.
The look she gave me was like looking into the eyes of Satan himself, lol.
I did finally start getting some stuff ready for the Labor Day dune trip that I will be at a week from tomorrow so that's good I reckon.
We got another 1/2 of rain today but we are supposed to be done with rain till Sunday. Starting Sunday and from there into the foreseeable future including the day I leave, we have pretty good chances of thunderboomers so I'm going to have to try to get everything I can loaded sadurdee and hope the yard has dried out enough to mow then as well.
Thursday
59 ===> 85ish again.
Vacation begins 9/1
Fridee eve mernin thing and vacation actually begins 8-31.
72 to a sun shiney 94.
Hmmmm....successfully worked my way into a day off tomorrow.
3 day weekend followed by a 3 day week.
Awesome!
Friday.
64 ===> 82 w/ 30% chance of rain
Maybe get my rat killing done today and do nothing tomorrow? Decisions...decisions....
Happy fridee.
71 to a sun shiney 96.
80 today; upper 80's for upcoming days
After 4 consecutive days of driving Dad to Stapleton for Novacane injections on his SI nerves for testing, we get to drive up there now for the procedure that hopefully relieves pain on the right side... Left side in 11 days.
Buckets of rain lightenings and boomers
I have started getting some stuff accomplished towards getting ready for vacation. I did get the normal tarrs swapped to sand tarrs on the yammerhammer along with some other minor stuff this evening so that's good on me I guess.
It's gonna be a busy sadurdee. 72 to a partly something 94.
Not here mouse doggo got a belly ache so doggy beach day canxed
Sunday was Mom's 75th birthday; Wednesday was Mom & Dad's 54th wedding anniversary .... Dad handled it pretty well.
Official start of kid fewtsball today .... Get to hang out in Castle Rock for 3 hours.
Well, I got the yammerhammer and some other stuff loaded including going and paying Joe prices to fill up gas cans but since we had pretty much zero chance of rain today, it's currently turd floating. I did not need this right now because on top of all else, I was planning on mowering and weedereatering and edgering and blowering today. Hopefully this storm is short lived so I can still do that but it's doubtful.
Thanks weather monkeys.
More rain stuff here again mouse did is feeling better
It was pretty hot and sunny on the turf today ... Court's team won 34-0 ... He had an awesome catch and run for a TD between 2 defenders, and a TD saving tackle to preserve the shutout.
just switched everything over to starlink this afternoon. despite living in suburbia, we are close to the edge of town, and there isn't really going to be any big developments that would prompt centurylink to ever get fiber pulled remotely close to us. we have comcrap, but that has its own issues and doesn't play nice with some of the network requirements we have. so, we made the jump a few weeks ago and tested it out. haven't had any issues yet. probably the wrong way to go about fixing the problem, but i wasn't interested in what the other solutions would look like.
looks like 87 today; maybe some rain
