Yeah, I've been having intermittent bouts of that for the last 2 months ... Right before and after mom's death. The brain was on everything else ... Oddly enough, it's been calming down a bit as Dad has been adapting to living at my house.

The brain plays tricks on us. I hope you can find comfort soon, as well as your other 2 housemates ....

Sleep is an under-rated blessing and often a topic of my prayer time.

Happy Y2K. Wait, wasn't the world supposed to be crashing down when this happened?

I'd love the job, but the commute would be a killer.

It's rumored that there is a real good BBQ joint in Durant...not that I'd know or anything.
Courage is knowing it might hurt, and doing it anyway.

    I’m on 2k.

Good day of hard work today.

Got the corn garden cleaned up. I grew some really nice sweet corn that the critters devoured before I got any of it. Yesterday I pulled all of it up and hauled it to the neighbor cows.

Today I pulled the weeds out of the garden
Then I picked the peppers, cleaned them and put them in the dehydrator. The basement should be smelling fantastic soon.

Then I tore out an old fence between the neighbor and I so I could complete a dirt work project that I’ve been working on

Then I split 1/2 a cord of wood.

Tomorrow I have a Dr appointment in the morning then I’m spending the day on the tractor plowing food plots.

It's a good thing you retired or you would be busy. The peppers look scrumptious.

Last night was dark and partly asleep.

Today is 79 going for a partly cloudy 104.

UPS showed my new weapon of mass destruction out for delivery all day long but it was never delivered. I expect the same for today on that front. My scope and scope rings did come in yesterday and my ammo is also supposed to show up today.

Well, that is super sweet but no, lol.

It's almost a crime to put a scope on it but I'm gonna anyway. The sights that came on it are pretty cool. I just think it's a beautiful weapon. It's the Ruger built Marlin 1895 in polished stainless steel with a silverish laminated stock.

Ok, I took 4 rounds in case I completely sucked at hitting a 64 oz Gatorade bottle with the factory sights. Not an impressive shot by any means but standing from verified 27 yards, the first shot nailed it dead center so I only had to spend 3 bucks, lol.

    Loons

I had the Midas touch today. Gould have just avoided all equipment.

    My schedule got thrown off

Headed to the farm to plow food plots. The key broke off in the ignition of the old tractor. Guess 50+ years of sitting in the ignition may have corroded it a bit

Fortunately my dad the retired tractor mechanic had a couple of replacements.

Decided to skip plowing. Grabbed lunch with dad then checked game cams.

Came home and fired up the sawmill and proceeded to ruin an almost new blade.

    After that I just quit.

Like I said, I only fired the one round and it does kick but wasn't terrible with the 300 grain rounds I bought. I can imagine that the 400 or 500 grain options would put a hurt on a fella. I reserve the right to change that statement after I put more rounds through it this weekend sighting in the scope although I'm hoping it's not too many rounds cuz dang those rounds are pricey.

I had one of those days about a month ago that even included falling out of my kayak which is almost impossible to do. I also gave up after a few failures and called it a day.

I did get the scope mounted. And the boxes of ammo dumped into the "free" ammo can they send when you spend a butt load of money on 200 rounds.

LOL, if it was .556, it wouldn't last long but hopefully I won't go through the 199 more rounds of this too quick. I really would have loved to not put a scope on it but I'm too blind not to. It's a Leupold with only 2.5 to 8 which should allow me to see plenty good out to 200 yards which is farther than you can see to shoot for the most part anyway so I think it will work well.
