All we ended up with was a bunch of thunder and lightning and .6 of rain.

Im gonna post 3 screen shots of my radar app on my phone from this evening. At 9:20, the leading edge of the storm was just getting to the lake. At 9:30, the storm was going over the lake. At 9:50, the storm was getting to Durant and was basically cut in half.

Its actually fairly amazing in that it happens every single time. Water evaporation cooling air temps above it? I dunno....
I wonder if that's a common phenom for the E-NE side of large lakes.

Does it also mean you get drier than a popcorn fart in the summer while those around you get relief? BF is like that, everyone else gets moisture (what little comes through) but it most always dissipates over us - it sucks bad.

This area had been in somewhat of a drought for 2 years before i moved here but has been anything but that in the 5 1/2 years since i moved here. We had 87 inches of rain in the wettest year since getting here and i don't think we have had less than 65 inches in any year. Ill just say that i have never needed to water my lawn.

The lake thing just seems to take the severe weather out of it but the rain makes it through.

Went into the house before lunch to find my hound and see if he wanted to go bunny chasing. Found him in the same spot I left him this morning before heading out to the shop. Think I tuckered him out yesterday.

Lol, the problems of having a dog with short hair and no undercoat. He gets cold VERY easy. I have been covering him with blankets when he sleeps since ai got him. I cover him when he is curled into a tight ball, then he unfurls as he warms up and starts stretching out. So when I left him this morning he was in a tight ball about a foot from the glass and he was completely covered by the black CU blanket. Then when I came in to get him, he was as the photo shows.

I woke him up shortly after that for a quick romp around the back 40. He is tired and panting now. But still laying in the direct sun. Like I said, short haired dog problems

Waited all winter to work on the Tacoma because I was trying to get the other truck wrapped up. I have a lot to do for this summer. I dropped my wheels and tires off to have the old Nittos swapped for the Trepadors as motivation to get things rolling again

They city has been redoing cracked sidewalks. The new, level sidewalk is about 3" higher than the base of my driveway and the supervisor came around to say that they were going to repour the slab of my driveway so it matches
