It was a good day. Finally got into the mountains. Nothing spectacular. Just saw the changing leaves and played in the river. Much needed high altitude therapy.

Happy day of Frying n stuff. Im thinking of going and sitting in a tree to see if a bacon will walk by this evening. I figure if i just go ahead and kill a couple of bacons, i can call hunting season over and not have to get out of bed early to actually go hunting.

It's one of "Those" days. The ones where you crack your eyes open in the morning and realize that the universe is screaming at you to stay in bed or terrible things are gonna happen.

My ego makes me get up and tell the universe to go f@#$ it's self. So, here I sit in my cubicle at werk (that's only gonna last until they get rid of the system I support within the next year) after driving a GDMF Geo with a gear oil leak over the exhaust pipe creating a smell that puts a skunk to shame and a hole in the resonator that makes it sound like two chainsaws are battling for supremacy under the hood.

Bring it. I can deal with it. And tonight I break out the whiskey and toast to my own mindless stubbornness.

I'm pretty sure I could flip the other truck even with 315k on it after dropping the new tranny in. I guess I need to make a few calls and see if I can borrow my uncles garage and see how long I can borrow my grandpa's truck for

Loons. Decided to use my day off to sleep in a bit. Now it is time to go get stuff for making jerky and sausage and get busy grinding last years deer up. Tomorrow the smoke house will be full and running non stop.

Next weekend is going to be the best for seeing the leaves. They were turning gold but had plenty of green left in them. I took my friend up that lost her mom and brother. It was really good to see her smile. The mountains have that effect. Your mind can be still for a little while.

Let me know if you need anything. Tranny jack, engine hoist, truck and trailer to move everything to one location....

Glad to help if I can.

Just go buy a Volkswagon TDI... I bet they are going to be pretty cheap here real soon.

Is your truck a 3.0 or 3.4? There was a 3.4 in the classifieds here earlier. You could even do a swap pretty easy if you had a 3.slow.

Its a 3.4 with 315k miles, it would be the motor currently in the previously discussed truck

Even at suspension limits 33's fit an xterra. The only thing is that there's a small plastic tab in the rear of the front wheel wells that rubs on 33's. I removed mine weeks ago.

Im just saying you could prolly just buy a junkyard motor and not have to deal with owning two pickups.

I saw a few decent sounding ones on car-part.com but I have no experience in actually buying a used motor from a yard. And at this point I'll probably be paying someone for the install

Surely someone here knows enough to point you in the right direction for sourcing and installing.
