    The Lunatic Fringe (Part 2)

Last edited by birddog59; October 11th, 2018 at 04:22 PM. Reason: You have to wait through the ad, sorry. One of my friends manages a plantation in South Georgia, his and a number of the 150 year old plantations down there are in a shambles. Seems nothing compared

Wife doesn't care to eat a grilled goose breast like a steak, she'll eat it, just not a preference. So we use it ground as we would beef. (in chili, casseroles, tacos, slow cooker pulled BBQ, sausages, jerky, etc). For that it's as undetectable from beef as elk meat is. We really like it in our homemade sausages (brats, Kielbasa, Italian, Chorizo....).

eta: Wife and my hunting partner won't eat brats, they, and I to a large extent, think they're greasy and nasty. But they jones for the one's I make...and so do I.
Hmmm, did not think about using it as ground. Thanks for all the info! I may have to make some time to spend a day with my neighbor

Yup, high today was better than yesterday though. Sunday at the Broncos game will be cold! Might actually give them a chance. Don't know why, but I LOVE the cold weather games. The colder the better. Just says "football" to me.

Not my favorite but if you wrap them in bacon and smoke them they are edible. I usually grind them, mix them with misc meat and make andouille out of them.

Well, what the hell did ya think I'd do...

Wife wasn't too impressed with my gopher gut stomp. Apparently I just caught him as I was walking up to the trap cause he squirmed when I went to get him out of the trap...so I gut stomped the...the...GUTs out of it.

The big lake has come up another 11.52 inches in the last 24 hours for a 10 day total of over 3 feet. The vast majority of today's rain is west of here in the watershed so its going to keep coming. I hope it doesn't end up going over the spillway and flooding from here to LA again.

The dam is currently releasing 114, 640 gallons per second downstream to keep the lake from rising quicker.
