So I gave up on the 4 link again.... running out of time do get this thing up and going for wheeling season.

So the 3 link is fully welded in place, made new rear shocks mounts for the air shocks, mounted the new trans cooler behind the passenger seat still need to plum it and wire it... got new Yukon u joints put in ,new axle tube seals and repack all the bearings.

One other little piece showed up!

IMO nothing wrong with a good 3 link set up. Congrats on the Atlas, what made you decide a 5:1 ? Looks a lot different than my old school Atlas.

Yeah for sure!!! The swing of the 3 link has some defaults and the only reason I wanted to swap it out was to get 2.5Ē coil overs and with the swing I canít fit them. As for the atlas I went back and forth on a 4.3 and the 5.0 but end the end I donít see me getting a v8 and if I ever build a different buggy it will be a turbo 4 cly.

Picked up a engine hoist so I can check clearances And itís tight but there is 3/16 gap under the drive shaft and link cross member. Time to weld in the rest on the links and work on skid plates.

Yep! The only thing im unsure of is the air shocks... Iíve had them before and I was a little to big for the 2.0s back then but I ran out of time and money for coilovers and the 200 I paid for the air shocks will have to do for a bit.

Got most of the rear suspension welded up tonight but ran out of wire so hopefully tomorrow Iíll be able to pick some up.

Spent some more time welding last night and did some painting but nothing photo worthy....

Down to welding shock tabs, one more gusset, drive shaft bearing mount and building my skid plate.

I have seen some gnarly rigs run air shocks before with great results. Can't wait to see the finished "new" rig!

Got somethings done today on the buggy after a bunch of clowns stopped bye last night making me want to get done sooner.

    Changed the oil

Put springs on the coilovers need longer springs now

Finished the oil pan skid plate mount- still waiting on the metal for the rest of the skid plate

    Installed the rear shocks

Made tabs for a rear limit strap

    Topped off all the fluids

Even started it up to make sure everything still works

Start on a better radiator mount

As soon as the skid is done I can start putting everything back in this pos. Nothing to fancy to show

Got a few things done last night....

Replaced a fuel line as it developed a leak and the it decided to blow up so it got a steel breaded line.
worked on the top half of the new radiator mount but needed to get some all tread to wrap it up.
Bolted up the uhvm boat sides.
Unbolted the 14 bolt cover and found a nice little surprise The adjuster holder and bolt decided to come out and play vs saying in play so Iím going to pull the ring and pinion out and check them along with the barings for Damage but I think it will be good to go
Got my new skid plate made as well

Got a few hrs on it yesterday rebuilt the rear axle and got the skid plate close to being done just need to add an extension to protect the drive shaft bearing mount, I donít think I may need it as itís all above the frame but Iím going to do it just to be safe

But down to a small list of to dos

    Drain and fill the coolant
Change springs and charge all shocks
    Finish up the shifters
Replace a u joint in the front drive shaft
    Fill the rear axle up
Grease the front axle u joints
    Install the interior

    Go wheeling

Looks great. Did you add any type of support inside skid plate? Mine is similar to yours and even being 1/4 in it got a bow in it pretty quick, and I don't hit the same level trails you do. I put a couple of pieces of angle on the inside and it hasn't moved since. I also added strap on the front and rear edges to keep them straight. It's stupid heavy.
If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have none at all.

Well itís resting on both cross members both frame rails but with no backing plates Iím sure it will still been or self clearance it self

Been chipping away on things got all the interior put in except the pass seat so I can adjust the shifters, had to re seal the rear diff for some reason Iím pretty sure some gear oil f-ed that up so I re cleaned it and resealed it last night, greased the front U joints, greased everything I could.

Need to add oil and change the shocks so I can test drive it

Yeah really close... too bad I had to spend all weekend in Denver or I would have been driving it!

I got mine from ruff stuff but I think they stop selling them... I would just look for utv bags and youíll find something that will work for you!

I am very sorry for that. I hate it myself.

Mike, I like those bags but wonder if the strap would be long enough to go around the tube of a buggy.

They have a width of 1.7" and 1.9" so I assume the strap would fit.
