    No Tailgating at Coors Field?

    WTF? That is so Lame.

Met two friends and their families for the game last night, start setting up to grill some brauts, eat some food and drink a few beers, until we were chased out of the lot by some maintenance guy in a white truck.

I've never seen a major sports team not allow tailgating in the parking lot.

I checked the parking website and no where did it show that tailgating wasn't allowed.

    http://colorado.rockies.mlb.com/col/...ontent=parking

They open it 2.5 hrs before the game, I guess so you can go spend your money in the bars, but when you have kids with you that's not the best option.

Talked to one of the lot attendants and he blamed the city of Denver, but that sounded like BS as there are huge tailgating parties at the Bronco's game.

Seriously lame Rockies, seriously lame. At least put that information on your website.

Was it a privately owned lot or a Coors Field lot?

    Private property=owners rules.

    Coors field lot B.

I don't have a problem with the owners setting the rules. Thats not the issue here. Put the rules out there especially if you have information on a website.

Not to mention its a stupid rule.

I see so since it was news 20 some years ago, no need to keep that information out there for the public.

    Seems it is . . .

    TAILGATING

Tailgating is not permitted in any Rockies operated parking lot. Persons may not consume alcohol in the parking lots, including inside their vehicles.

Baseball is boring and the Rockies obviously suck. Having said that, I'm heading into town in a few for lunch at Twin Peaks then going to the game just because its free and the games are somewhat entertaining to see live.

What exactly about the Rockies is fan friendly? If they really cared, they would have a better product on the field.

Seems the following teams don't allow it either

    Dodgers:
    http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/la...ontent=guide#T

    or the Cubs:
Tailgating: Tailgating is not allowed in any of the Chicago Cubs operated parking lots. The Chicago Police Department strictly enforces open alcohol container laws.

I wonder if has something to do with the amount of games that are played.

    Either way pretty stupi

It's not bad business, unless you alienate the people and they come to less games, because the policy is to force purchases inside the park.

I never said we had the right to tailgate, I said its dumb to not allow tailgating.

    http://pittsburghtailgate.com/pnc-park/

Tailgating takes place in the parking lots surrounding the park. The majority of tailgaters can be found in the parking lots between PNC Park and Heinz field and the lots near the Clark Building, which sits just under the Rt 65 overpass on Martindale St.

If you want to pregame indoors, Mullens Bar and Grill is a popular spot before and after games. It is located diagonal from the left field seats on the corner of Federal St.
    That's how its done.

That's laughable. Never seen open container laws enforced around Wrigley, and I have been to over 100 games there.
Also never thought to tailgate at a baseball game. Always just went to a bar (with and without kids).

    Wynkoop is very kid friendly.

If Pittsburgh is so epic, why are you still here? In all my years going to games this is the first time I heard someone complain about this rule, honestly. We are excited to go to the Falling Rock for a and support a local business.

    Haha!

    Pirates Tickets
Pirates games do not usually sell out. The most difficult tickets to find are opening day tickets, tickets against cross state rivals the Phillies, and tickets for firework games. If the Pirates happen to be playing well, there is a better chance that games will sell out, but if the team starts to slide in the standing, itís usually not too hard to find tickets.

OK same goes for the Rockies.
