Trails around Estes Park, Poudre Canyon

There is a few of us going up around Ft. Collins or Estes Park here in a few weeks. We did Kelly Flats last year and MSV, Cony Flats. What is up there that might be more on the harder end of the scale, or really scenic?

    Thanks for any suggestions.

Moody Hill and Crystal Mtn is a little harder.

Storm Mtn has some good scenery.

IIRC that is why it is called "moody"
I appreciate the advice but I am just gonna wheel it.

As stated above, Storm Mountain is a great scenic ride. There are several side trails to be done so you can make a long day of it. This time of the year the entrance from Buckhorn Road is open and a great way to go to make a loop out of it coming out by Drake. I would start at that point as it is a better ride going up. (I know this as I just went through that normally locked gate this past Saturday, they open it during hunting season only.)

Here is my GPS track of the area in Google Earth:

In Poudre Canyon, Kelly Flats is a good one.

Johnny park has some really nice spots - but no difficulty. Add Pierson park to it and you've got a nice long run, loaded with nice places to pull over for a picnic in the shade or on an overlook.
Crystal mountain? - finally ran that first time ever a couple weeks ago...rough? Too bad my companions broke and wanted to go home - maybe Moody's better.
    Nixon park is pretty.
I've heard Rock creek is nice.
There are some mild challenges on Ironclads off Bunce, and chaining Bunce with MSV makes a nice long run.
That's about as far as I'd go within "Near Estes".

    Kelly Flats is still closed.

Except for the quarry Crystal is rougher than Moody.

There are no hard trails left in this area.
Maybe in a stock , not locked rig some trails might be a challenge.

    I miss carnage....

X3 on Moody hill. Play at the Quarry top of Moody for some Challenge then go over to Crystal Mountain. Crystal is as rough as I have ever seen it. Been up there twice this summer because I had so much fun. Kids got there fill of wild Strawberries and Rasberrys. Even if your Rig is really built you can take lines that will put a smile on your face. But if you don't have a built rig you can do the trail as well if you know how to stay on the high spots. So it is pretty well rounded. makes for a fun day.
