    Golden Gate HDR (yes, these are LARGE images)

    OK, let me preface this by saying I am not really pleased with these images. The conditions I was shooting in were less than ideal (including high wind and water vapor), I wasn't shooting from where I really wanted to, and I think I wasn't in the best mood to attempt these captures. I'll try again when I go back to SFO next month, and maybe I'll have better luck. Comments/ critiques welcome, but I am already displeased. I did promise to post some, so that's why they are here. The latter 2 had some PP done in Lightroom, made them a little more appealing.

    I like the last one the best...the second one, the blue is way too saturated for me and it just looks too fake. The landscape orientation isnt really as appealing on the first one as the portrait orientation, so it makes the that one a little odd for me.

    The third one is really good though...has kind of an antique, early 1900's flavor to it...i like it!

    I'd say I agree with you pretty much. And I think I am still frustrated by it all. The weather just sucked for shooting. Luckily I got some good pics on the first day.

    Have you tried tweaking the non HDR versions much?

    Id say you would need a much clearer day and much more tone mapping than what your workin with now to achieve that. Its a nice image but FWIW, i still like your third one better...more "realistic" i guess you could say.

    I'll probably load the 3rd into Photoshop and experiment with transformations to get rid of the converging verticals. Then it could be a very good shot I think.

    I love the third one, but think the first one has potential if you spend some time with it. I like the fact that you have the horizon level in your shot over the 7/4 one you posted that you were trying to mimic.
