1.6 second exposure too...
I know just standing or squatting, i can hand hold to about 1/15 of a second and still be fairly consistently sharp(60-75% keeper rate) with no image stabilization. If im resting against something i can drop it a little lower and still keep an acceptable keeper rate...even more so when i kick IS on...ive got some images that were a little over a second handheld but its pretty rare to get keepers when you get into exposures that long. Were you resting against anything? I know Nikons VR system is good, but a fairly sharp shot at over a second and a half handheld is pretty crazy!
I did have a little help from a railing.............and the hugest deep breath that I have ever taken.
I actually shot it on a stair landing that turned the corner, going up to the second floor conference area. I sort of wedged the camera into the notch, took a deep breath and pulled the trigger. I will say though, that the VR system on this lens is utterly amazing. I love this camera!!
Nice pics, but really, no beach babes?
I liked the next to the last sunset pic.

The only beach babe I took photos of was my wife. And while I consider her beach babe quality for sure.........I'm not sure she would appreciate being posted up in this forum for all you 4X4 goonies to drool over.![]()
