You need to go to Doc's Pub and Grill on Darmouth just west of parker. Ask for the "crack burger". Slab of meat slathered in cheese and green chilli sauce on toasted thick bread . The owner named it the Crack Burger after the people who ate wouldnt call it anything else.

I make it at home from a really easy recipe.

Restaurant green chili scares me because I can't take really hot stuff. I'm German.

fresh roasted hatch green chili - mmmmm

for a chile sauce - finely chop the fresh roasted chili, add some garlic and cumin and a very little bit of soup base if you have too. Most of CO uses a pork stew/mushroom soup with trace amounts of green chili in it and that isn't green chili in my eyes, tex-mex green sauce maybe... For a burger etc - just cut up the roasted green chili and put it on, no need to do anything else.

I'm not even a fan of green chili unless its perfect. The owner of docs is from New Mexico where I guess they take the stuff very seriously. He makes his own so its a little different everytime. Sometimes it will take the enamel right off your teeth, others its mild but rich in flavor. Its always good.

You can order it by the bowl but I highly recommend the crack burger.

Oh gosh, maybe we could meet up there sometime! We go to Holly West during the summer because of the patio (we smoke ). Tafolino's has the best chips!

Have you seen all the signs that are opposed to the new place? Can't say that I blame the neighbors. Its too bad that Taf's can't just get their hands on more of the strip mall.

505 Green Chili - I buy it in the big jar at Costco or King Soopers...smother me some burritos or breakfast food and it's yummmm...

Then again, I hadn't found a Mexican/New Mexican place I really liked other than a little place on the NW corner of Colorado and Mexico (north of the Indian restaurant).

pork stew/mushroom soup? I've tried several times to come up with a green chili - cleaning and cutting up a pot full of serranos and stewing them in the drippings of baked pork loin and then cutting up the loin into it, but I could just never get the consistency right. I was thinking about getting some Irish moss. Mushroom soup, eh?

The stuff they make here at work isn't bad, except they just can't resist adding about 60% by volume diced tomatoes. It takes a long time to pick the tomatoes out of it, but it's much better if you do.

Heck yeah let me know. I use to live right there. you have probably seen us there we are usually load and anoying but having a good time.

I agree i would probably be annoyed by the restaraunt but think about how quick they could be eating.

I agree Holly west is nice with the patio but i dont know if i dig the food as much.

Which Tafs do you guys go to? I always go to Tafalinos Too which is the dive across the street. I have eaten at the bigger one but the green chili is better at Tafs' Too. Even the waitress that works there says she hears that a lot. I guess they make it in a bit smaller batches. That green chili rules (M&G)

Any of the Brewery Bar locations have some of the worst green chili I've ever tried.
Little Anita's (the place at Colorado and Mexico in Denver) is darn good, but I'd have to say that Rosalinda's is the best I've had in Denver.
