Tire Question? will 255 fit to replace a 265?

I have to buy some tires to replace a 265 70 R 15 on a Nissan Frontier. I'm not looking to spend alot of money as I will be selling the truck in a year or less.

Will a tire sized 255 70 R 15 work? From what I understand the 255 is millimeter width? My stock rims are 15 X 7, the tires are smaller but much cheaper than the 265's

The reason I ask is b/c Walmart will not mount anything other than the factory size. I may buy the 255's and have them mounted and balanced somewhere else, if I can do this cheap enough.

    Thanks for the help,

That's correct. 10 mm is about 0.4 inches. That difference in width won't even be noticeable.
