Going back to see the family during Christmas but I doubt the lake will be frozen over enough then to go caving or ice fishing.

oh man... thats a picture of heaven right there! we used to do the same and use touring ski's to head down the shore or across to the island.

its pretty ironic, that moving from the midwest (i'm a Michigander, but lived in Chicago) to Colorado that i've come to discover that aside from Ouray, the ice climbing was better up there than here.

We get snow, not ice - that's why the skiing is so good.

A unique place in the world. My brother went to Isle Royal this summer for some fishing and caught some monsters. I'll see if I can dig up the pics.

My thermometer recorded 31* and the camp host stated his recorded 26* last Friday night/Saturday morning on Hahns Peak Lake North of Steamboat.

32* and 34*, respectively, the next two nights.

Ask Jeremy about how cold he was.

and easily cleared 80* during the day. A minimum of 50* temp swings. Possibly 60* swing from Saturday morning to Saturday afternoon.

We were around the corner on 550 and we only hit 41*. Were you riding? We were in two Jeep Grand Cherokee WJs.

Yes, riding. We rode 550 to get around. We rode some single track near Whiskey Creek that took us into Wyoming and paralleled the border for a bit then dropped back down into Colorado. We rode up to Hahns Peak as well. Not to the top. The base of the final ascent.

Anybody know what's up w/ the tiny cabin on the switchback on what I think is the East side?

I got a flat on the front tire and ended up riding it back 16 miles.

We did Elkhorn Mountain Rd. 508 on your map. It was fun. I think it is a fire tower.

And them aren't even that big. I've seen them almost 4ft back there. Then there are the sturgeons also.

not related, but i think ive figured out (in my simple, base understanding) why the wondrous camel toe has been so much more visible than in the past.
shaving. much harder to have that skin tight outline when you have that big hair buffer.
