Agreed that while the power station (blue lagoon) is very touristy, it is still well worth the visit! Just book early as they only allow so many folks to visit daily.

Well, pretty close now that I think on it more. But I am pretty sure mine had wings and probably jet engines.

Would have loved to be the one who recently found this in a MI barn. 1 of only 10 rumored to have ever been made, only one to evidently have been shipped over to the States. The AMC AMX/3...

    I call shenanigans!
I didn't think there was ever a 2-8-8-8-6 locomotive so I did a google search.
Wikipedia says this picture is "The sole 2-8-8-8-4 locomotive".

Yea, yea, I know that doesn't mean there isn't a 2-8-8-8-6 but I can't find one on the Internet. Wikipedia doesn't list such a locomotive. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whyte_notation
    Wikipedia says
The 2-8-8-8-4 was highly unsuccessful because of only making a maximum speed of 35 miles per hour and high maintenance costs.
That's a big engine but not nearly as big as the one Don posted.

    Good Catch...

The triplex also need a water tower every 8 miles...

I could say mine does have a much larger and wider fire box and tender.
And alas... Baldwin rejected my design and started building diesel locomotives.

The real engineering is what the rest of the picture controls

In N scale size matters!! Don S..
