Use 14b r+ps because then then new 5.13s (or any ratio) would be available new, off the shelf. I kinda got the idea 5.14s were rarer because of the following statements:
Dude, do some research before you start making inaccurate statements and hijacking people's threads. Lot's of people already use 14 bolt axles and disk brake brackets on Eatons. Why the hell would you want to use 14 bolt r+p gears when 4.10's, 4.56's, and 5.13's came stock in the Eaton? They're not that hard to find and they last forever if taken care of. I just bought one with 4.56's this past weekend for $100. I will also pick up a spare 3rd member just in case -- it's an easy 1 hour job to swap gears with the Eaton -- try that with your 14 bolt. You are dreaming if you think you're just going get an Detroited 14 bolt from Ft Carson for 2 bills anytime you want. That might, might, happen once a year, but I doubt it. Too many people watch those auctions. If you find one out of state don't count on DRMO shipping it to you. If you like 14 bolts great but don't come in here and bad mouth Eaton's unless you know what the fawk you're talking about.
