Obviously the same guy since roadripper was his redirect solution to link back to Colo4x4. http://www.wildlandscpr.org/resourcelibrary/index.html

I am a newbie but the bottom line from what I know (not much) is that the 4x4 trails take up a minuscule part of ?our? wilderness, I don?t get why he/them are trying so hard to keep that from us?

Vernon, I?ll send a donation to the cause over the weekend.

Do these people realize that the Hayman fire could have been controled better if the wouldnt have shut down so many roads. This cut access to the fire big time.I think these people need to get a life, instead they like to complicate others lives.

Hey vernon,
I walked up Barking dog a few weeks ago. It was pretty obvious that Mark felled a bunch of trees to make the trail look like a single track. Around the first corner a large portion of the road has sluffed off. It looked pretty recent, was wondering if this was something Mr Boslough did?

he , his brother , or their helpers. yup
if you read the roadripper site they specifically do not want any fire supression at all

So, VB, IS BD in fact open again, or is it still in a closed status? BTW, I was the one who posted his pic here, but took it down when the posts became derogatory. (Don't know what else I expected)

I will post their responses if it is worthwhile.

thanks I assume the picture you're refering to is the one that is linked to on this page:

http://home.comcast.net/~balarat/ranch.html

take a look under the link "Broomfield High School Class of 1973: 30-year reunion, August, 2003"

The letters are KUNM. obviously a new mexico radio station and usually "K" suggests it's a non-profit station. And usually if it has "U" it's a univeristy.

it looks as though boslough has changed his mind yet again on how all those trees on barking dog were felled. he has gone from his "forrester" told him to thin em to someone else did it.
things must not be going well in the case already in court since he spends so much time on bashing me , id say it must be some sort of theropy for the poor fellow.

my friends!!!!! i think we have stumbled onto something here did you see the part where they said our vehicles are made to go over land.i am sure that prolly better than 99% of where we go and what we drive on are already established roads/trails.i have found trash for the 30's in some of the places i have been.new roads? i think not!

ok...having worked for the national park service before and knowing some of the federal laws and regulations regarding our public lands, i have to say that these people are complete idiots . i can see keeping ORV out of certain areas, but using the whole "invasive species" thing from the tires...c'mon...what next?? no hiking allowed here (CO) because you hiked in NC and could possibly drop seeds in our environment...the angle they *seem* to be taking to me is absurd...i consider myself an environmentalist, but most the people i know from wheeling do MORE to give back to the land (i.e. trash pickup, maintaining roads, etc) than those who just use it for walking/biking...i will refrain myself from ranting more..hehe;)

This group of people must have read the book by Tom Clancy, "Rainbow Six". A small group of people felt it was okay to kill the entire rest of the world so they could make it safe for the future.

go to the sierra club are the wilderness sociaty and youll see that they want just that. the world is over populated and they want all of us off of it and they want to rewild the west and be the only ones alowed in to enjoy it cause they are the only ones that know whats best.
mind you that many of the largest contributers are the fondas , the turners, the redfords , the newmans , the goodbergs ,harrelson (woody)(sp) etc etc the same folks that get paid way to much for standing in front of cameras. (did i mention that i NEVER go to or rent a movie) these or bad people with money that believe that they know something.

maybe I'm just too ignorant, but I think that they really don't know better and/or are beeing fooled by the tear-jerk guilty conscience manuvers the serria club likes use... the sad part is, if you look at what the serria club and most others like them are supposed to be about - they all started out with great intentions that I would gladly support, however they have gone on a rampage way off course, and I doubt that most of their contributors really even know it.

You guys have just tasted a LITTLE bit of Missoula. I used to live 30 miles south of there. It's like I have posted before, you have know idea as wheelers and motorized off roader what your up against. There was 18 Nature Nazi groups in Missoula when I lived there. They are very MILITANT. They have even suggested and endorsed hunting, hunters. In the Bitteroot Valley there is a Nature Nazi training Camp. They teach HARDCORE AREA PROTECTION. They teach Nazi's how to KILL the ENEMY with booby traps and at least cause serious injury. Guess who the "ENEMY" is?
This isn't bullshit I promise you. What most people hav'nt relized yet, is that we have to be no compromise either in our standing. Just like the NRA. I know for a Fact there is People on THIS board that ARE members of the SIERRA CLUB. There is NO straddling the fence in land use issue. You can't reason with these Nazis. Don't even waste your breath trying. You people in the Denver area is Just starting to get a taste of whats to come. You have to fight these Nazis on all fronts and take no prisoner. Or you could do what they want and just give up. YOUR CHOICE.
I just read in thier newsletter about a suit to close a Road in Yellowstone during the winter months. Its the road from Gardiner Mt to Cook City Mt. Its the only open road in the winter. Why does the Park service only keep this road open all winter in Yellowstone you might ask? Answer is its THE only possible plowed paved road to Cook City in the winter. There is no other way except to Helicopter in or snowmobile. They are also sueing to get rid of the snowmobiles too. See the tactics thats going on? They are trying to comepletely isolate a whole town in submission.
Also driving that road isn't free as you have to purchase a park pass.
Another access to Cook City was removed in 1967 when they created the Absoroka-Beartooth wilderness. That road was lost.
Another example is SilverGate. 1 mile from the Park entrance and about 2 miles from Cook City.
About 5 years ago, the Federal goverment PULLED EVERYONES water rights!! That means you can't get any water from a well, stream or spring. How would you like to own that property.
They did it under the pretext of a Buffer Zone for Yellowstone protection. Didn't hear about that in the paper did you. You won't.

I wrote several members of this group rather lengthy emails and received no repsonse. I am probably now on their list of people to kill because I might drive a Jeep or ride an ATV or mountain bike or hike into "their" wilderness. These people are dangerous. For those of you who enjoy reading a good book now and then read Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy. Clancy is the guy who wrote Hunt for Red October, Sum of All Fears, both made into movies. The scenario of Rainbow Six describes these people exactly. Either he got the idea for the book from them or they got the ideas they have from his book. Of course it could just be that they are coincidentally facist, communists or nazi's and believe that what they think is right and what the rest of us think doesn't matter and the world would be a better place if the rest of us were dead and they could re-populate the world and train their children to grow up thinking only their thoughts. It really is scary to think that people like this exist. We are afraid of foreign terrorists but these people are on the edge of being terrorist right here in our own country.

I have now written all of the emails listed for this group of people. I sent them all the following letter.
Please read the book "Rainbow Six" by Tom Clancy. It's an action packed thriller book about people just like your organization. They plan to kill the entire population of the world except for those who think the same way they do about the land and wildlife. I'm sure you would enjoy the book and the ending.

In the end of this book, their attempt spread a killing virus through the entire world by gaining a contract to install evaporitive misters at the Olympics in Australia. On the final day of the Olympics their plan is to introduce a killing virus into the misting system. The virus takes several days to attack the victims so the entire world will be exposed. However, their plan is thwarted and they wind up in their fortified safe building in South America. Their building is destroyed and they are left naked in the South American rainforest to be one with nature.

I hope this group is stopped and whoever destroyed the trees and the forest goes to jail.

if you read the roadripper site they specifically do not want any fire supression at all Hey there guys I was checking the site out and came accross this thread. And thought I might comment on the whole fire supression thing. Fire is a selective force of nature that provides balance to the ecology of a forest and by controlling fires we change the course of natural selection. Why do we do this it is our nature to preserve and protect what we like and want. I can understand fire supression if there are peoples homes at stake and such however we should try and protect the necessary boundries and allow nature to do her thing. Also, just another tid bit of useless information there is an endagered species of clove that requires disturbances to the ground inorder to thrive I know it is associated with buffalo but since we F'D that up guess where it is found today? on jeep trails where we drive and if we didn't go there niether would it. so if we take responsibility for our actions and let nature take responsibility for hers everything should be ALLRIGHT, so the eco-NAZI's should sleep well tonight and know that the majority of us are thoughtful and want to protect the land just as much if not more than they do.

I just came across this thread. I have looked at the current Wildlands site a couple times and can only say that they have tamed it down a LOT to make it palatable for the masses.

I originally came across the Wildlands Project in the very early 90's. Their stated aim is to remove all human habitation west of the Mississippi River except for a few very narrowly defined "tranportaion routes." The Sierra Club is a major member of the project, but by no means do they make up the majority. PETA, Earth First!, the Wilderness Society, Freinds of the Earth, and many more hold high positions in the Project. Al Gore was a major supporter, that's where a lot of the drive came from to create all the public monuments at the end of the Clinton travesty.

Don't blow off the Wildlands Project as another crackpot gonzo greenie thing. They have a LOT of money, and a LOT of power. For years, high ranking Forest Service and Park Service administration have served as directors and managers for the project. Huge corporations funnel money into the Project through many avenues. And they've been around a long time, since sometime in the 70's. This juggernaut has already started and it is the root cause of many of our issues with government entities.

Now, I can see all the flames headed my way, but this isn't made up. The Wildlands Project used to have a site of several hundred pages that included the EcoTerrorists Handbook, all the information on how to make death traps on motorcycle trails, all the info on how to permanently destroy roads, and everything you could hope to learn about how to put a Congressman in your pocket. When the Wildlands started showing a gentler public face about five years ago, I tried to dig up those old sites. I even had the old URL's at that time. But they're gone. I'm sure someone wised up and decided to go low key. The original site was extremely scary. It made me feel dirty to read it.

This is serious stuff folks. This fight is bigger than any of us know when you get above the local arena.

I find it interesting that the Fondas, Turners, Newman, Redford all have multi-thousand acre ranches of their own to do whatever they want to with, but want the rest of us out and land returned to "conservancies"/ Like pointed out above, don't buy, rent or go to movies. Be aware of who you give your entertainment dollars to, including restaurants. The nazis are after our land use rights, our 2nd Ammendment rights to own firearms, and want us controlled like sheep. If there's any saving grace, maybe they'll be burned out of L.A. as it's returned to it's "natural" state.....not that I support the fires. I stopped funding the hidden politics of the rich and famous a while back when I saw which celebs wanted us off public land, which fired thousands of rounds of ammo on screen, but were "pro-gun control" off screen. These hypocrytes don't deserve to be funded by our dollars. Be an informed consumer. Know who and what is behind what you buy, where you spend your money (isn't REI a source of funds for anti-wheeler nazi groups?).e.g. If you are anti-tobacco, did you know that Phillip Morris owns Kraft Foods? Just an example. Be aware. Shop smart. Make people aware when you learn about those who endanger our rights, our privledges, our land, and our health. Stop them with your dollars, either spending it elsewhere, or supporting your side and hopefully the position most of us on this board are on.
BTW- I'd recommend boycotting the movie Mystic River, with Sean Penn and Tim Robbins. Not our friends.
PS. Wheel smart, safe, and clean up after those few who are careless. "Be" the example of responsible land users.

I completely agree with these people. I think we should tear up every road we have, go back to gathers, because eating meat is wrong. Then once all the world can live harmoniously, we can realize what savages we have been to our mother; and by mother, I mean Earth. It's time we stop brutalizing the land that we rely upon. We should be completely self sufficient and live in caves, because trees should be allowed to grow for as long as they want; you know, they have feelings too! graemlins/puke.gif
