Americans for Responsible recreation. I got an email from them and it sounded like they were for balanced recreation, not wilderness, and emphasized that they supported ORV recreation too. I haven't had a chance to dig though the site and check them out yet, but am interested if anyone else has heard of them?

I logged onto their site, provided a password, and joined the group.

I'm convinced they genuinely support motorized access to public lands.

Once you're a member, they will e-mail notice of important initiatives and legislative actions. You can then log on to the site and they have prepared canned verbage that they will fax to your representatives for you. In addition to the canned verbage, you have the opportunity to add your own words.

I did a web search of two of the bills they support. The Sierra Club does not support the bills. Enough said?

I encourage everyone to get involved with this. Here's an excellent chance for us to have our say.

Dave.

Thanks for the information. I signed up and have already written my congressional representatives concerning bills to keep the lands open. The group makes it easy to make our voice heard. I'll keep an eye on them but it looks like a good thing for four wheelers.

They are a very balanced group!
I have been a member for almost 2 years now. They give you updates on important issues as well as letters, email & postal addys and phone numbers. They work w/ Blue Ribbon Coalition, United and local groups that are having problems. Their email have links to their action page, so it is easy to find what you need. :D
I highly reccomend them to all. I do a lot of land use activities, and they are one of the 3 sources for my info & materials.
