The Fugowie Four Wheelers (Patrol 12 - Mile-Hi Jeep club) worked on Wheeler this weekend. We dug a substantial dranage channel to drain the bog and attempted a "tank trap" around the edge to keep people from driving around. The bottom of the bog is solid, and we hope that by keeping it drained, people won't cut through the brush.

The chute is still the chute, but there has been substantial traffic over what used to be a earth ledge on the right side as you head into the chute. Along with the traffic, Ma Nature has washed part of the ledge away and now what used to be a tight squeeze is a cake walk. There isn't much that can be done about the missing ledge, so for a good challenge, close your eyes and remember how the line was....never mind

This is a perfect example of impact by vehicles and their selfish owners that have little or no regard for others that would like the original challenge on the trail, and create their own bypass.

My best hope is that Ma Nature washes out the ledge completely and exposes a new challenge better than before.

Cool, it's great to hear about good stuff.
Too often, it's things like the people you mentioned do that get all the attention.
Everyone needs to pitch in and do some good.

I finally got to run Wheeler Lake and I would like to thank you guys for keeping that trail a good trail to run. We had a good time and hopefully we will be able to do it many more times. We tried doing it earlier in the year, but because of snow on the trail we turned around and waited for another day.
Thanks!!!!!
