Folks, one of the wonderful politicians in Washington has again decided he knows what is best for Colorado. Rep Jay Inslee has proposed a bill which, as I understand it, mimicks the Clinton Roadless Proposal. This would designate 600,000 acres in San Juan Natl Forest (just minutes from my home) and 4 million acres elsewhere in Colo as Roadless.

Surprisingly (VERY surprising) is that Scott McInnis is actually opposing the bill. Even he, who normally pushes for Wilderness, can see
that this proposed legislation is flawed. He says, "You don't just paintbrush several million miles of Western lands and say no roads....... You've got to manage your lands in custom fashion." There's a concept, way to go Scott!

Please, please, please write to President Bush and tell him you oppose Inslee's proposed legislation. McInnis did. I did. What's your
excuse? If you dont' speak up you're part of the problem! Take 5 minutes to write to:
president@whitehouse.gov

Can someone provide Mr McInnis' email addy? We need to THANK Mr McInnis for his support.

Please don't blow this off, or I'll be seeing NONE of you on our(CLOSED) trails next year!!!

Send E-Mail to Jay Inslee. (http://www.house.gov/inslee/email_inslee.htm)

Sherwood Boehlert from New York is a co-sponsor of this legislation. Rep.Boehlert@mail.house.gov

Scott McInnis doesn't seem to have an e-mail address, but this is how you reach him. (http://www.house.gov/mcinnis/contact.htm)

Also contact:

Joel Hefley, Colorado 5th (http://www.house.gov/hefley/contact.htm)

Bob Schaffer, Colorado 4th (http://wwwa.house.gov/schaffer/107th%20web/contact_information.htm)

Tom Tancredo, Colorado 6th (http://www.house.gov/tancredo/contact3.htm)

Forget about DeGette and Udall. They'll vote in lockstep with the Dems.
