So I am looking to make a higher octane version of my Honey IPA, so I bought some bombers of Double IPA's and IIPA's to get some inspiration. After a few, it donned on me that I have no clue what the difference is between the two "styles" is. Could someone enlighten me?

It's just a name. They're the same thing as far as style guidelines go. Check out www.BJCP.org for more style info.

P.S. I think they should be called Double IPAs instead of Imperial. At least an Imperial Stout has some history, whereas a Double IPA is just extra super hoppy and (supposed to be) more malty, too. Usually they arent' even close to being balanced. Hops reign supreme.
