View Full Version : Can Danica whine any more?

scottycards
June 3rd, 2007, 06:47 PM
Weldon had track position, Danica held her line even though she was behind him, he came down into the turn, tapped her, and she about spun.

It's racing.

Coming up to Weldon after the race and being pissy is lame. Quit whining, Danica. Win a race, then you can whine.

I watched part of the race, and it pretty much confirmed my decision to completely quit watching US open wheel racing. I used to watch every race that CART put on, but since the IndyCar/CART fued started it's just gotten lame. What were there, 17 or 18 total cars in the race? At the halfway point there were like 5 or 6 cars on the lead lap. That's not racing.

Hell, you don't even have to qualify for an open wheel race any more. Except for the Indy 500, simply show up and you're in the field.

Lame, lame, lame racing.

X2 Open wheel is so bad now it isn't funny. It will not get any better until they get back under 1 organization. It is a shame but even Indy has lost the magic. As for Danic she has always been a whinny little girl.

I didn't know she was a whiner. She's hawt tho!!!

Tell me if I'm wrong here. A few years ago I saw an interview where Dale Earnhardt was bitching about someone on the track and said that the other driver should be banned. Yet wasn't he one of the guys who liked to spin out other drivers and then say, "Well that's racin'!"

Maybe I'm steeping on hallowed ground here for bringing this up. Since he seems to be like Jesus to Nascar fans.

Danica sucks. She'll never win a race on driving ability. Rain delay or pit strategy maybe, but not by outdriving anyone.

I have absolutely no respect for her. I'm sure there are dozens of men that could take her place and win in the cars she's driving, but they don't get the seat time because they don't look good in a bikini.

I checked out the pre-race for a couple of minutes this year and saw a couple more girls in the field. What a joke. Women just don't have the spatial reasoning to compete with men in that sport. The only reason they're taking up space is for advertising dollars.

Not trying to be funny at all, just laying out the facts that people are affraid to talk about because of the PC police.

The facts are that women don't have same abilities as men. Among women, she is one of the best. Among men, she'll never be able to compete. No woman will.

i am the last person you will find to be PC most of the time.... your allowed an opinion but this time you are wrong. and comeing across as a real a$$hat in the process.
so in theory just because you have something in between your legs (yet to be proven...) you would do better than danica patrick? Cry all you want. Danica is without a doubt one of, if not the most talented female driver. She has the best equipment available, yet she still can't win. Sounds like a pretty good field test to me.

I used to compete at a professional level, and there were women on the course at the same time as men. Even though I was only among the top fifty men in the country, I routinely crushed the female world champion. She just didn't have the strength or the skills.

Facts are facts. Women can't compete with men in racing. Reaction time, strength, spatial reasoning, ability to focus, killer instinct, whatever. Instead of calling me names, how about showing me some examples of women who have raced against the best men out there and won. And please don't bring up drag racing....we all know that has far more to do with the car than the driver. The reason you "whooped on guys" is because bracket racing is for girls. :lmao:

You might think my argument is one sided, but I do freely admit that women are better than men in several areas. There's no question they are superior in communication, multi-tasking, etc. But when it comes down to skills that men have refined over thousands of years through hunting and fighting, they don't stand a chance.

I didn't know that men have been auto racing for thousands of years. I've completely missed that somehow.

I have yet to see you present any real facts to bolster your assertions, yet you ask others to do the same. The fact that Danica hasn't won yet proves nothing as most men have never won a race either.

ok.. lets look at it this way... average indy race there are 20 drivers...
3 women
17 men
percentage of men who dont win compared to women = worse.
how many men win races their first year?
hell.. how many men do as well as danica their first year... definitely not all of them.

so what it sounds like to me is you think women are good at being barefoot and pregnant in front of the oven and men are good at things that take "skill"???
yea, your right... your argument isnt one sided at all.. my bad.
and im not sure how hunting and fighting fit into autoracing? tho there is a lot of communication skills involved in racing... as there is multi tasking... so in reality your just helping my cause. but yea, have a nice day. :flipoff2:

Tell Shirley Maldoney its all about the car. And I will sit back and watch her kick you in the nuts. If Drag racing was all car ANYBODY could do it. And by your example men are better because of hunting and killing skills. Why is the black man not represented better in all forms of racing. Simple opportunities are limited because of racism. That is by the way rapidly falling away. Listen to what Bill Lester has to say about doors being opened up to him finally. Woman racers are in the same boat err car. As for Danica having top of the line equipment hum don't think so what has the Go Daddy team won? Her moving over there was all about advertising money.

Typical defense. Put words in my mouth and paint me to be something that I'm not.

I'll never understand girls like you. Walking around with a chip on your shoulder trying to prove you can do this or that just as well as a man. Why not just do what you want to do, and be happy doing it? Why do you care how you compare to men? Do you have some need to seek the approval of men? Is it a deep seeded insecurity that women are inferior and you need to prove to yourself that you're as good as a man?

If you can't admit that men are more skilled than women in some areas, and women more skilled than men in others, I say that makes you the chauvinist.

Okay-so I'm a little off topic but my point is that women aren't taken seriously until they are caught or they have won as this case may be. Danica will win races eventually. She's young and talented and has the backing. Saying she never will is a demostration of male chavonistic thinking. I could never win an open wheeled race with Danica.

She has a very good point. Its proven that women are generally better at shooting and anything else requiring stability. Of course there are always exceptions to the rule. Una here for example cant walk and chew gum at the same time.

There are always exceptions to everything, but making a blatant comment that women cant compete at our level is just BS!!

I'm going to disagree here. I think it's at the core of what's wrong with kids today. Everyone raising their kids and telling them "you're all winners! Yeaahhh!". Then the kids get out in the real world and can't deal with adversity when confronted.

no the problem is parents dont teach their kids how to lose respectfully/gracefully and pick themselves up and try harder if they really want it. or if they dont really want it, find something they really want that IS worth working for, to them.

like you said before. if you like doing it then who cares what everyone else thinks. even if you suck at it. if you like it then whats the problem. so long as you can deal with the consequences.

kids dont understand consequences. THAT is the problem nowadays. (you just killed your sisters cat. you dont get TV for 5 minutes.... - you get my point)

ColoradoXJ

that's not AT ALL what i said... i'm not babying anyone. notice the fact that i said "with enough drive and determination" pretty sure there's a number of threads here that would agree with me in saying that i don't see a lot of that today in the younger kids. i'm completely anti-"everyones a winner" because it does more harm than good. however, if a short person really wants to play NBA, they work really hard, get really good at the skills to overcome their lack of size. that's what i'm saying. but you HAVE TO have that drive and determination. what you're describing is a lack of motivation for kids to even TRY and succeed. yes, they are being raised that way. yes, it's wrong. BUT it's completely different from what i'm saying.

Wow- I haven't tuned into this thread for a couple of days. I certainly had no intention of bringing the gender of the driver into question.

Danica did not have track position. My other point was that the right to whine is earned in racing. Someone said Dale Earnhardt would whine. Well, dude won a lot of races and earned the right to talk smack. Same for Tony Stewart. He's a total friggin' whiner, right up until he bump drafts you into the wall at 190. I can't stand the guy, but he's a HELL of a driver- maybe one of the top 2 out there (besides #24, of course).

I think women can drive fine. I think Danica needs to shut her trap, win a race, and focus on HER driving, not anyone else's. She does not possess the skills to win, obviously, at this time. So for her to blame others is silly and unreasonable.

She had Weldon RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER, and she didn't let out of the gas. Christ, I'm no IRL driver, but if you go into a corner hanging off someone's left rear fender, you can darn sure bet that person is going to apex the turn and take the line they have.

One of the golden rules in racing is: what's behind you doesn't matter.

Danica- you were behind Weldon. He doesn't give a s**t about you sitting there off the a$$ end of his car. Back out, and if you want to pass him, don't try to do it in a corner, on the inside, where you don't have any room. Dumbass.
