manual or program modes?

I tend to take better shots when I'm in manual and have control over all my settings.

If you use any program modes, which ones do you prefer and why?

i take way better pics in manual mode as well, and i usually use the AV setting, it works well for me most of the time. but if i use the program modes i usually just but it on the green box, it seems to be a neutral setting, and works well for me too.

I like using the portrait mode for my kid pix, they seem to be more in focus for me then. I use manual for most all the rest.
