That's cool mainly b/c I have NO idea how you did that.

Just layers, I isolated the "body" of the jeep, then changed the color of the top layer, and finally tweaked the transparencies until I got the right look. I did a Red and a different green version also.

I too use the GIMP, but I have never been able to get results that good on a color change. And my "isolation" of the item has always been choppy around the edges at best. Any tips or methods you can suggest to get the quality results?

Layers. I create a "color" layer, and then "erase" the non-colored portions until it looks right, or close to right. Then I play around with the way the top layer is placed over top of the bottom layer. Im finding that the quality of the picture makes a big difference, and going from light to dark, is MUCH easier than dark to light colors.

I usually have to zoom in to really get the new colored layer to really match up.
