And this message:

These were both with a Canon S3 IS. I am thinking there is some post-production that has been done. Great pics either way...

nice use of shutter speed. What a great panning shot...could have used that idea for my photography class assignment!

I'd take her... um... picture... anytime!

That is a pretty clever picture idea though, I have to admit.

Just to stay on topic, here is a picture of Lefty:

Well, I eyed more than one, but she DOES look small in that merry-go-round!

he/she had to be using a tripod to get that shot though....don't you think? do you think the shooter was actually ON the merry-go-round too or were they shotting from afar?

I'm pretty sure the shooter was ON the merry-go-round. It would be the easiest way to get that sort of shot. You wouldn't need to keep the shutter open all that long to get that much blur if the guy was pushing the merry-go-round at a good clip.

x2 - If you look at the perspective, I am thinking absolutely they were on it.

what settings do you think he had, Eric? I can't tell if was shooting in the shade or in sunlight. My guess is that is ISO was about 100 to 200...

Tempted to buy that 350D, given it takes shots like this...

The 350D does take excellent pictures. I wouldn't classify that as an excellent picture, though.

A couple of me playing with my new lenses.

The camera body is still the Pentax k110d. Most were taken in full auto mode. Some were taken with the selector on "action."

80x200 zoom

Near:

Far:
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/214/503434684_a8f98f8672.jpg?v=0

Does it count as macro if it was taken from 10 feet away?

And a couple wide angle (17-28) shots at the climbing gym. (Not me climbing, just a friend.)

That's what I said. I'm not often shocked by hardware. Lenses are so cool. One of these days I'm going to own a 300mm/f2.8 zoom. Then I'll be the man...

Noah, what makes you think these shots suck? The DOF on the first one is really interesting and draws you through the image. The nature shots are simple and beautiful too. I would photoshop the last one and try to add some light on your subject.
