does anyone one have of these? I picked up one this weekend and I can't get it to read any of my SD cards. If you have one, got any ideas on how I can make this work or should I just take it back?
The other option is that I can download pics directly from the computer....but I would really like to be able to use a card instead. Thanks in advance for your advice.

They are all different in the way they work from brand to brand. Some read memory cards of all types, some read only certain ones, some only connect to the computer and you down load what you want, some let you hook up a card reader, some don't. Some have their own memory, little or large, some do not. You need to look at each and every one (brand) and get the one that works the way you want to use it. Need to read.
The price I've seen on most could be a good down payment on a Jeep! :D

:) I hear you....you guys are nothing but Pusher Men!
no new car payment, no new car payment....that is my mantra...must fight off the urge to buy a Jeep.

got one for my mom for xmas...LG brand i think.
works great, used my old SD card and right now has 300 pics on it using about 20% of available space.
look in the options setting for the frame and specifrically tell it to read from the card, not the built-in memory.

Are these things battery powered, or do they plug into the wall? I have looked at them in the ads, but the prices are still such that I haven't bought one yet. Gifts for grandparents is a good idea though.

The one I got my mom is both I think...
And that was the idea exactly Chester, I had pics of the boys dating back to 1996 that I only had in digital format...now she has ALL of those and everything else since then...

the one I have plugs into the wall. I went into options but it's not reading any of my SD cards....I'm gonna try using the USB and plugging it into my computer.
