Ok, this thread is for your recommendations of commercial brews you have recently had and liked...and why....
not a long list, just if you have had one, and liked it, post it up so others can enjoy, I'll start.
Just had Avery's IIPA, Maharaja last week, went out and bought 3 more the next day. I think it is probably the best commercial IPA I have every had, and its 9.8% or so with 102 IBUs. Really great balance of malty-ness and hoppiness, doesn't taste like alcohol, and not too sweet like I found Mojo Risin' to be, the IIPA from Boulder Brewing...which I thought I would like as I love Mojo IPA.

Also, Anderson Valley Brewing Co's Brother David's Double Abbey Style Ale, had it a couple months ago and was really impressed.

Avery's Out of Bounds Stout. For those who like a "meaty" stout like an outmeal style.
The IIPA from Avery, is that the one with the red carry? If so, that's outstanding as well.

Leinenkugel's Northwoods. No real reason, just my favorite beer. Unfortunately, largely unavailable outside WI.

This year's Maharaja, as noted above, is outstanding. Have many bombers in our beer collection. Odell's new IPA is quite good. So good, in fact, the first sixer we got of it didn't last an evening. :) Unibroue's Quelque Chose was good, but not as good as Lindemann's Kriek, nor as good as New Glarus' cherry offering which is made with Wisconsin cherries. Green Flash's Extra Pale Ale was nice and malty with a great hop aroma and a balanced bitterness. What else did we drink last weekend? Oh, yeah, Twisted Pine's Hoppy Boy on tap at Falling Rock, and Great Divide Hercules (no longer on cask.) I think that's it for commercial beers in the last week.

Hopefully when they get done with the brewery expansion they will start to distribute outside of Wisconsin.
And they always have a huge line at the GABF for their Raspberry Tart. But you have to be there for the Saturday afternoon session to get any. (sometimes avail on Friday).

Went to a small bar in Boulder the other day, off Table Mesa and Broadway, I think it took over the place where I got my in-lines back in the day.
They have a really smooth, hefty stout. I'm not exactly a beer taster, I just generally like beer that looks and pours like motor oil.
They also had a good ale, real tasty, almost red. Don't remember the names or much else, first time I'd been there.
The Breckenridge Brewery also has a few good 'uns. Their seasonal Vanilla Porter is awesome if you like porters, the vanilla isn't overwhelming or anything, I guess the vanilla in their porter is comparable to the strawberry in Pete's Strawberry Blonde or something. It's there, you can taste it, but it's not overpowering. Their seasonal Christmas ale is good too.
Dunno about the lighter beers at either place, haven't tried 'em.
x2 on Alaskan Amber :D. Every time my roommate heads to the motherland he brings back a case for the house . We've heard there's a place in Denver where you can find it, but haven't confirmed it yet.
Any you guys tried the Wasatch Brewery stuff?
