Thoughts!!! CoT thoughts!
After watching practice and qualifying I hate to say this but I might not mind the COT too much after all. That wing still needs a bit of work but ya know, after listening on more info about it I thin I like it. Heck the front and rear windows are now angled to about the same spec a production vehicle. About the same hight as a production vehicle. Sooo maybe it's more like a production car then the current cars. Even though they are nothing like a production car if that makes sense. I can't wait to see if the splitter on the front cuts anyones feet off. Some of the pit crews are seriously worried about it after the things gets filed down on the track. I guess some have started looking at like catchers shin guards.

I like the profile of the car. Between the B and C pillars. Definitely looks more like a production car. I saw that they're using different vertical supports on the wing to affect the side draft, too. Interesting.
Also, if a wing comes off or is damaged, NASCAR must replace it- the crew can't just pull one out of the tool box. Will be interesting to see how that works in a 5 car crash- how are they going to distribute the wings to the damaged cars?
Splitters have been in use for some time in sports car racing. My guess is that they won't be much of an issue, but who knows??? Also, my understanding is that splitters are pretty much a high-speed aero thing- they don't really come into play that much at the speeds we'll see at Bristol, so my guess is that they'll crank them up to the 4.5" max to run today. Shin guards might be a good idea to prevent a severed foot.

It will interesting to see what happens after they start bang on each other. Not sure what the effect will be when the splitter gets damaged or the wing get bent.

I think the wing is safe, its like 8 feet in the air :D
I kinda like the cars, and its cool to see these guys have to work to get used to something new :)

Well the big news out of the race was that there was no news. Car performed as designed. Really do not think we will see the true nature of this car until the fall 'Dega race.

Yep, he definitely showed class at the end. He could have very easily punted the 5 car out of the way.

Looks like Burton got his restart issues figured out as well. I loved seeing him zip past Gumby (Gordon)

It was good to see Burton do well. He did show some real class at the end, becuase he had a free shot at the car in front of him.
There are a few drivers you can pretty much count on to act as Burton did (Mark Martin comes to mind), and there are a few that you know would have taken the bump-n-win route.
COT is cool. I like it.

Burtons internview summed it up. If you have to hit the leader in order to get by him you didnt really win the race...
I like the COT as well. It will be interesting to see how it does at a superspeedway...
