Got my new brew setup that going last night. It was a christmas present from my bro. Stainless kettle on a "Bayou Burner". I tried to use it indoors, but because it was the first time using it the paint was burning off the stand and smoking me out. Had a little boil over when I went inside to get the hops ready, DOH! .
The beer is my "Carl's Pale Ale" recipe. Super simple and super tastey. Light dry malt extract, Simcoe and Cascade in the boil, dry hop with Cascade......and this time a little wheat grass thrown in the secondary too. Pitched the yeast last night and it's already taking off this morning.

Ever heard of carbon monoxide poisoning? Do NOT use those things indoors, unless you have the mother of all ventilation going!

Looks nice, but you need a bigger pot! lol.
And yeah, unless you vent really really well, keep it out side or in the garage if you have one.
So when do we brew at your place?

Yeah, you'd have to be a total artard to use one of those things without some ventalation. My kitchen might as well be outside when all the windows are open. Funny thing is, after I got it all going out on the patio I thought, duh...why didn't I do this in the garage? Nice thing about being outside was, when I had the boil over all I had to do was hose off the area. The wind was kicking up and I was getting worried about some foreign objects landing in the beer. Next time I'll brew in the garage.
I requested a bigger pot, but you get what you get with gifts sometimes, ya know? I can boil three gallons with it, which covers most of my needs I guess.
A brew party might be kind of cool out in the garage once it warms up a bit. Maybe do a little wheeling up on El-magre followed by beer sampling and brewing? Here's an idea.....have everyone bring one ingredient of their choosing for a compilation brew, but nobody tells anyone ahead of time what they're bringing. One person brings hops, another brings malt/sugar, another brings yeast, etc. Then split up the wort and everyone takes some home to ferment and bottle. Then get back together in a month or so for a tasting?
