I was too lazy to go back to seek out Ghetto's thread. :)

What Sarah and I wanted to do was try to learn a little photography. I discovered I really love shooting baseball. :)

Maryvale. Wide lens.

Milwaukee's Racing Sausages. :)

Featuring the newest, #5, Chorizo. I couldn't get this little "dance" from the front due to the way the stands were.

http://home.comcast.net/~jschwiesow/ST4.JPG
My new background at work. I'm not so into the picture, as much as Ben Sheets is one of my favorite players. :)

http://home.comcast.net/~jschwiesow/ST5.JPG
Hazy Sedona.

Lake Pleasant. I made my parents drive me there since its minutes away, and I didn't believe it existed. I actually kind of like this pic, though.

This is what I was talking to a friend who's big into photography about. Trying to capture the poses is tough. I think once we take a class and learn about manual shutter speed, it'll get better. OR, I could learn how to take continuous pics?
The windup and...

http://home.comcast.net/~jschwiesow/ST8.JPG
The pitch. Different pitch, obviously. BTW, Suppan had a no hitter for his 5 innings. :)

Getting a good batter pose is even tougher. Jenkins' exaggerated stance made it easier, so I like this shot too.

Nice pics, Josh.

You should make that Chorizo pic your avatar. :D :D

LOL.

I'll think about it. I'm not sure if I'm fond of him yet or not. :D

What were you shooting with? Is it a point and shoot or a "dissler" (DSLR)?

You should invest in a program to do some post processing to those pics. If you cropped in a little tighter, you would lose a lot of the distracting background.

If you have the full res files available, I could show you what I mean.

Good stuff, nice to see others catch the bug.

Also might help to stop taking pics of the top of the person's head in front of you. :flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

I actually haven't cropped at all. I just resized to quickly post them up for someone who was giving me tips. :) I do have a few programs on my wife's iMac, unfortunately, I have as much to learn about those as I do about photography in general.

That said, I could really get into shooting baseball. I may go check out some CSM games to practice. :)

Anyway, I used a Nikkor 70-300 mostly, and sometimes 28-80. The camera is a D50, so yeah, DSLR. :)

If you are interested in playing with one, send me a PM with your email and the one and I'll send you the "big" file. -Someday I'll get around to playing with PSelements. I was really hoping Sarah would and then teach me, but I seem to have caught the bug more than her, even though it was her initial interest.

Here's two more since someone (elsewhere) asked about Fielder. :)

I know. Two of those pic especially got marred. The one that bugged me most was the suppan, although the jenks got blurred too.

I had a couple of antsy seniors in front of me, and a kid next to me. None of them would sit still.   I didn't want to stand, since I had a few more seniors behind me.

That would crop out easy enough though.

Ps can I get a what what for a White Sox/Brewers World Series, Pleeze, just once in my lifetime.

I use to love when the old man would drag us up to County Stadium to watch the Sox/Brewers.

I swear to god the best brat i've ever had was in that lot. :D

I coin the term now, the OLD STYLE series, or as everyone else would the I-94 series.

That'd be awesome. If it happens (heck, if MB vs. anyone in the WS happens), I'll be throwing down a few K for tickets. :)

I do miss eating brats at old "country" stadium or Miller Park. We make good ones at home, but, y'know, its not the same.

Lemme know if you guys play any games in Golden.

It was great when I worked at the TCF across the street from Bender's, I'd walk over there everyday for lunch.

Whoa!

That one is great. The "mentor" elsewhere was trying to explain how to learn to "freeze" the ball. It's tough! Great pic!

I'll keep on it. :)

Just have your "film" speed set about about 1600-3200 and your shutter speed at about 8000.

I just may. :D

Here's some I took at Mines a few days back. http://web.mac.com/coloradobucky/iWeb/Index/CSM-Metro.html

I have a lot of learning to do, and I need to review settings for at night, but I already got a bunch of feedback from an e-mentor elsewhere on settings and ordered the Peterson book.

I'll be at "The Sox vs. The Rocks" game tomorrow. Should have a pretty good vantage point to shoot the game. Any requests for player shots? Let me know. I'll post up some shots after the game.

If you want to come to a game, our schedule is at http://www.ljba.org/teams/schedule.html?team_id=80 (assuming our leagues website is working ok, which it isn't at the moment). If you do come, swing by the dugout and say hello. I'll be the tallest coach with a black hat on (L in the center).
