So Lance from Pirate4x4 scored a ride with Pistol Pete in Trophy Truck #2 to run the SCORE BAJA 250. How cool is that???!!! Going from Jeepspeed (XJ series in desert racing) to a Trophy Truck after 2 races.

All I've got to say is that rock crawling and 4-wheeling is a helluva lot of fun, but desert racing is where you are really getting it!!!!

There are few threads over on Pirate you guys should check out: Pistol Pete almost driving off a cliff into the ocean, Jesse Jones Trophy Truck recovery from driving off the same cliff into the ocean (Camo pulled his trophy truck out - how cool is that!), video of Mark Post in the Rivera Trophy Truck being stopped at gunpoint by the Federale's 100 yards from the finish line), and a few more other threads about the crazy anticts that happend during the race. They're all in the Desert Racing forum. Enjoy!

The video Lance posted with Jesse Jones' truck being "rolled" out just cracks me up... What kind of budget does it take to OK that kind of extraction, must me nice!

NOTHING LIKE WRECKING A $250,000 THAT SOMEONE ELSE OWNS!!! I need more sponsors!! Val how were the locals? After hearing about the guy killed for his Jeep on Playa Armenta at the 1000 i'm kinda scared to go down there!!!

The crazy thing is seeing the pic of him sitting on the beach, and knowing that he lost his life just hours or a couple days later!! All for a Grand Cherokee!!!

For those that have not read the thread on race-dezert this is where Post ran afoul.

Even abiding by the SCORE set speed passing a cop with oncoming traffic will usually get ya nabbed.

PS it seems that this race had quite a bit of "irresponsible"* driving by certain chase truck drivers.

My next project is going to be an early toy, with total chaos front and deaver rear, with 35s, front and rear locked, 4.88s, with a 3.4 supercharged caged front to rear, sure it'll be expensive but all offroading is. I want it to go fast and smooth and be able to run trails. The tc kit gets awesome travel and i think i could run some trails with it around here.

The TC kit is super smooth compared to stock and soaks up bumps great. I have the torsion bar version and I really like it. I just need to work on getting the rear suspension to be as good...

Really? that is awesome, im gonna get the coilover kit, or i guess the one where i can use tbars until i find a good deal on Coilovers. im gonna do the rear up with deavers and through the frame shackle, and pull the bedsides. The front will get hanneman. I would like to concentrate on suspension and the axles, then do the engine swap.

Locals were sketchy. One team pulled into their hotel, pulled out their luggage from their truck, gave it to the bell man, turned around and the truck was gone. He wasn't 50 feet from the truck when this happened. There was a rhino with the truck that went missing as well. Another team had their hotel rooms broken into and stuff taken. Trust me, I was on the alert the whole time (minus the drunken parts I don't remember :drunk2: ).
