I saw the interesting colors way off to the north. It was kinda odd that it was so dreary in the skies above Monument at the same time.

I used to think so, but the sunsets in Santorini have it beat I think. These pics doesn't do it justice, but I think DaJudge will agree with me

Santorini was awesome as was almost anywhere in the Med but the VERY best in my experience were when we lived in Alamogordo, NM.

I was restricting myself to SUNSETS. If you rate overall picturesqeness (if there is such a word) then Santorini gets my vote:

X1000!!

Santorini has the best sunsets by far.
And I have spent a good bit of time in NM, including Alamogordo. The only part that made the sunsets around Alamogordo better would be the fire trails from jets or rockets from Cannon and white sands:flipoff2:

however, the frequently scantly clad women and food boost santorini above the jet trails :D

I pointed the camera at the mountains and took the picture :) Honestly, I just take lots of photos and hope a few are nice. I have a fairly decent camera (Sony Cybershot DSC-F828) and I just dabble. No skill or training involved.

here's one I took when I was at south pole.

That's pretty much what it's gonna look like down there in another week or so. It's about the only thing I miss right now. The only thing that makes my pic cool is the location, you guys are great photographers.

With scenery like this (RMNP) it's hard to take a BAD picture:
