So my buddy has given me his bolt action .22 mag to hang on to for a while while he is deployed.. I told him id get it working for him.. Its a Marlin model 883.. Nice little rifle, anyways, when you cycle the action, the bolt wont eject the round.. It will pull it out of the chamber, it just wont eject it out of the ejection port.. Im thinking, its just a broken ejector.. Any thoughts??

i dont know about marlins, but on my ruger, the extractor was fine, but the little nub on the opposite side of the action that gave the empty that 'flip' to get it out was broken (gave me the same problem you describe), 2 bucks from brownells and 20 minutes of kitchen counter labor and it works great. check brownells web site, they have schematics of tons of guns that you can download, they also reference each part on the drawing with a number for easy ordering

If it pulls the round out of the chamber the extractor should be fine. Look into the tit that actualy makes the round eject
