So I watched all the practices and qualifying today. Busch Practice had 7 cars into the wall. Cup practice had 3 or 4 into the wall and IIRC Cup quals had 4 into the wall. Go go NASCAR/Goodyear for bringing a harder tire to slow the cars down.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: Into the wall is a lot slower though.:tisk:

As I thought the Busch race was wreckfest...and terribly boring. I am sure teh cup race in the morning will be worse.. GO GO Goodyear....=(

Did you hear the tires squealing as they left pit road? I've never heard tires squeal with that high of a pitch. They must have been a super hard compound.

The track looks REALLY bumpy also. Man, getting a car to hold at those speeds in a corner when it's bouncing around is tough.

I thought is was the best race so far this year- maybe because no green/white/checker- they ran the whole last 10 laps without a wreck- amazing.

Nice day for Hendrick motorsports- my guys ran one-two. Gordon was dominant. Makes me think he's sandbagging to avoid the post-race winner tech inspection or something........ He ran really strong all day, then seemed happy to let JJ win.

Good race. What what a bonehead move from Jr. late in the race. "I didn't see the flashing red light saying the pits were closed." :wtf: Of course it made him finish farther back in tha pack which was okey-dokey with the wife and I.

Meh an OK race. Man I cannot believe the start Martin has gotten. Wonder if he will really stepout when he says?

Yea Jr flubb'n up that pit made me throw up a little in my mouth. Pissed me off. Jimmi Johnson gets a pit road violation for his tire rolling out of his pit box..ok fair
enough. It happens a second time except the pit official decideds to catch it for him......and not give him a penalty!!!! WTF?????? Is Hendrick getting a break?

Not just Hendrick. Watch the pits during a race, especially in person, and the officials catch a LOT of rolling tires from all teams.

Oh I have seen if for years.. My problem is the consistency of rule calling. Either penalise(sp) them every time or none of the time..

Consistency in penalties from NASCAR??? Woohoo, that's funny right there.

Not just in penalties, we all know that NASCAR gives "the nod" to teams all the time.

You think it was coincidence, or "help from above" when Jr. won Daytona after his old man crashed and died?

More like boosting the ratings, I would guess.

I'd like to put a micrometer on that restrictor plate and compare it to the others. Nothing new. If anyone seems to get the short end sometimes, I'd say Stewart does. I can't stand the guy, but he's one of the best drivers out there- his attitude doesn't win him a lot of friends within the Franz family, however.......
