Any Die Cast Collectors?

Like it says any of you collect die cast cars?

I have about 30 mostly 60s and 70s Ford and Merc muscle cars that I will never get to own for real. I have a GTO and a special edition Kennedy Lincoln as well. I only buy them if they are cheap or a car I really like.

My dad has over 1000 pieces in his farm toy die cast collection. He is so compulsive about it that if he cant find the exact model he wants he buys a similar one and mills out on a hobby mill the parts to make the one he wants. I remember way back when my parents were having some financial problems and couldnt make the mortgage payment he would just sell off a bunch of his tractors and make the payment. It didnt seem like anyone noticed the reduction on the shelves.

Just two on my desk at work. My two "dream" cars... A 66' VW bug with porsche rims, and a lifted wrangler. Maybe some day Ill get serious about it. There is a VW rabbit in die cast from europe that I would LOVE to own, a couple actually. And then all of the Mopars and other VDubs. Id like a CJ too. But right now, Ive got no where to put them that is safe from the dog and soon kids. The two at work are motivators. :)

i have about 200 different cars all hotwheels all in the packages. i went through a stage where my son was into them and we would buy 2 whenever we saw one we liked he would get one to play with and i would keep one. i have display frames that i hang on the walls of my office that the packages slide into so you can see the cars. maybe some day they will be worth something but i just keep them around because i like them. im no longer actively buying cars but if i see a jeep i like ill pick it up.

My collection is all 1:16-1:24th scale stuff. Mostly 1:18th. I am going to make a display case for my wood shop walls in the basement. The only problem is deciding how I want to deal with the dust in there.

I have a about 100 NASCAR hotwheel is packeges and 5 or 6 of the larger 1:18 nascar stuff.
