Anybody get their CCW from Denver? Just curious to see what your experience was.
I've been calling them many times a day since Tuesday and all I get is a recording. I kept calling in the hopes that I would be able to talk to a real person, but finally ended up leaving a message this morning at 7:00am. Needless to say, they didn't return my call today. I'm worried that this may just be a tactic they use to try to discourage people.
Denver requires that you call and make an appointment. And they only have appointment times on Mondays and Tuesdays between 10:00am and 2:00pm. I'm glad they make is so convient for people that work.

That's about all the more convenient DougCo is with the 10-2 business on two specific days per week. And they are "permit friendly." Course you don't need an appointment.
Yeah, my guess is that they don't want you to have it.

Tried calling again today three times, still no answer. Hopefully, someone will answer or call me back on Monday between 10:00am and 2:00pm when they are supposed to be there.

Called three more times today and still no answer. So I left two more messages. Still waiting for them to call back.

I'd just drive over there. You've made more than a good faith attempt at an appointment.

I wish I could. I know how it works there and I know I wouldn't get past the Officer at the front desk without an appointment. So now I'm looking for a different phone number so I can at least talk to some person there about it.

Well at least see if he (officer at desk) can set you up (in person) with the person to make the appointment with. If you explain reasonably how you have called multiple times, I'm sure he'll at least try to help.

I found the main phone number for the Denver Police Headquarters so I'll give them a call tomorrow and see who I can talk to about it.

CCW is a County Sherriff thing; I realize Denver is both a City and County in one, but is the Denver PD also the Sherriff, or are those separate offices?

You are correct, Denver is both a city and County and in Denver the Denver Police Department handles CCW's.
The Sheriff Department takes care of the jail, and transporting criminals to court mainly. Denver Sheriffs don't even have to ability to arrest people.
Anyway, after making a few calls today, I was finally able to track down the correct person to help me out.
