I am looking for a place for myself and A guy I work with (both responsible shooters and hunters) to plink some prarie rats. If someone knows of a place please let me know. If you do not want the world to know feel free to PM me.

We are looking for somewhere with in 2 or so hours of the springs. I have tried everything except driving around and knocking on farm house doors (okay I have done that too). With no luck. Have arsehats here given us hunters such a poor rep that farmers would rather have the dogs???

Like I said responsible shooters and hunters. Both in the AF, both over 30, one of us well over 30.

Thanks

Bud

You would be welcome to join me the next time I go to Sterling but it's a little further than 2 hours. I'll let you know the next time I go out.

To answer your other question, unfortunately yes.

It would be a looong 2 hours, but I had a card at work for a guy that was begging people to come shoot his, northeast of Greeley. I won't be back there 'til Monday, though.
I'm fully convinced that a farmer would have to be an idiot to let a stranger hunt on his land anymore. I go out on the Pawnee National Grasslands to hunt rabbits and coyotes. If you see 3 signs, 2 of them have been shot. People drive all over where they're not supposed to. I watched a guy miss a coyote 4 times that was skylined, with private land and houses all around. I was on some state trust land a couple weeks ago (ahem... STATE TRUST LAND, people), land set aside for one purpose- hunting. Every single last sign had been shotgunned over and over. If I ever meet these people I will...

SHOOT 'EM IN THE FACE!!!! :flipoff2:

I'd like to get that info, NE of Greeley isn't too far from me.

So to educate the dumb redneck, I pretty much can't hunt them on state land East of 25, so I need to be looking for state trust land West of 25. Is this an accurate statement?
