Mad Projection is supposed to be setting me up soon to play online. I haven't done it yet but I'm looking forward to it. I have played Champions of Norrath countless times, just trying to build up my character. I need something new....

Hey Gunter, when I looked up Unreal Tournament, it said it was a first person shooter game...can you take a character and give it new abilities, weapons, etc. in Unreal Tournament? That's what I really like about RPGs.

Unreal Tournament isn't an RPG...

Hmm, while UT does rock it is far from a RPG or Role Playing Game. It is a full on FPS or First Person Shooter. Versus a RTS or Real Time Strategy game.

For those of you who don't get down on the game lingo...

I am not into RPG's but if you want to look at a RTS, I would highly recommend Company of Heroes or Age of Empires 3.

If you have a PS2 and are into RPGs, there's dozens of titles from Square that are phenomenal. Most are fairly similar to the Final Fantasy series, but with different characters, plots, game mechanics, etc. The art and feel is pretty consistent throughout, though.

To name a few, check out:

Xenosaga
Dot.hack (four part series)
Legend of the Dragoon
Chrono Cross

the last two are PS1, but still damn good looking and a lot of fun to play.

What the crap???? RPG != FPS....UT is a FPS, NOT an RPG. ;)

If you want a GREAT RPG, look not further than oblivion. Soon to have a 30hour expansion episode. My bro took 100 hours to finish. You won't find it on PS2 though, but is easily worth the upgrade.

Though with out the upgrade, look to Morrowind on the XBOX, another serious RPG. Or look to fable which is quite awesome, and I can't wait for Fable 2 on the 360. Or KOTOR if you haven't played it yet. Better than any of the three starwars prequels. Great story and true to Star Wars. Both KOTOR and KOTOR II.

Oblivion is only on PC and Xbox 360 right now, tho it is coming out on psp and ps3 i think.

I cant think of any really smokin rpg's for ps2 right now, but the final fantasy series is always a winner if you can deal with turnbased combat, or has that changed int he last installment?

Morrowind, oblivions predessesor is on xbox. But not ps2.
Sorry wish i had better info for you.

There are 28+ of us playing wasteland war (http://www.wastelandwar.com/register.php?REF=901), a 4-wheeling-oriented game. There's no "I raise my +5 staff of striking" sort of stuff - just committing crimes, upgrading your vehicle, attacking people, working out in the gym, that sort of stuff. If you need pretty pictures, you're SOL, but colorado4x4 is developing a strong contingent, and if the bad weather holds out, we'll be able to take over the world from the GL4x4, TRS, FSB, and other vermin. Of course, if the weather's remotely OK, our team will all be out wheeling for real.

The latest version (Final Fantasy XII) is no longer turn-based. It is basically real-time, with a recovery period after each action is taken. The only complaint I have with it is that the story itself almost becomes forgotten sometimes when you're off completeing side-quests... they basically have no tie-in to the storyline. It is fairly well done and fun to play though.
