Well I thought hey I have HDMI on my vid card I might as well get a mammoth screen and play some games.

I am not really all that happy with it...
1. the max rez is 1366x768 so all that screen just makes things huge. I actually had to turn my settings down to get good frame rates and still there is ghosting and flickering like crazy. I think im gonna return it...

I got the 32 inch VISIO from Sam's its pretty but I want higher rez!!!!

1080p is probably what you are looking for... $$$$ extra currently at least.

We love our LCD, but don't use it for a PC monitor.

32" is pretty big for a computer monitor. If it isn't specifically a computer monitor, or if it doesn't do HD above 720p, then most likely you won't be happy with it as a computer monitor.

I picked up a Dell Ultrasharp 24" LCD (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-4335) about 6 months ago and love it. One of the best ugprades I've ever made. It's not the best on the market by the numbers and it ain't no 32" screen, but the brightness, clarity and response time look as good to me as anything I've seen. It still seems huge to me after 6 months, too. You might want to check into the Dell stuff if you're thinking of returning that Sam's Club screen.

yea this a 1080i with 8ms response, its just that its highest resolution is so low at 1366x768. So things are still huge, I was hoping to beable to gain more screen realestate but instead lost some. My 20 inch widescreen can go to 1440x900. I found a 37" westing house that can go way up in rez but its 1300$$$$$$ ouch, lol

Mac has a variety of Monitors in the large size, but they are $$$$, really nice looking on the eyes though.

As for the westinghouse, we had one die on us after 2 months... The tuner died, and it was a single board tv so no easy repair.

Upgraded to a Samsung and never looked back.

for going to a big monitor I think you need to be able to get up to some serious rez's I found some beasts

Dell 30" max rez 2560x1600 $1700
HP 30" same $1700
Westinghouse 37 1920x1060 $1300

Those are massive resolutions Gonna have to beef up on the gpu to run those buggers at any kind of a decent framerate. but that is some serious realestate!!!!!

Yep I bought the 2405 over a year ago. Love it, thinking about trading in some AMEX points towards a new 2407 to go along with it.

If you are going to be using it for gaming stay away from the Dell 3007 (30 incher) and probably the other ones too, just read a review or 2 about the Dell and you will know why.

with th 1600 vertical pixles you need a "Dual Link" DVI connection on your video card...

I know on my new mac I can run TWO 30" flat panels... that would be way too much...

I have used a 30" lat panel (not just tinkered with at the store) and it's almost too much... would be great for people editing video, but after that it's almost too much...

I have two 19" flat panels (under $200 a piece at newegg, refurbished) and I LOVE them... although a 30 would be nice, I really like my dual 19's if you want more screen realestate...

paging hippie - your input please?

I run dual 19's at work and dual 17's at home. I am getting used to the 19's, and want to do that (or larger) at home...

What exactly is the question...?

Input: Buy (2) 19" monitors.

Ill take dual 19"s for the win... then again, Im used to two monitors. A 30" would be REALLY nice though. I might have to back up though. Having a command prompt, eclipse, Outlook and other windows all open at the same time, I could easily make good use of more desktop space.

I'd drop $700 for the new 2407 and call it good. If you really want to run dual monitors, then dual 19's or 20's. I couldn't imagine sitting infront of a 3007, my arms are not long enough to sit far enough away from it.

The dell 30" actually performed really well for me. NOt HD but man it was nice having it. I had to sit back a bit more though. Thank god for wireless mouse/keyboard.
